MSC UNITED SOCCER ACADEMY The MSC UNITED ACADEMY is dedicated to the development and growth of elite and travel players in the DC metropolitan area. We teach the fundamentals of the game of soccer, decision making and problem solving, individual skills, and futsal skills in a demanding practice and game environment. We at the MSC UNITED ACADEMY, believe that a foundation of fundamental, sound technical skills is critical for ELITE soccer players.Academy Director, Coach Julio Arjona, has 25 years of coaching elite youth soccer players and teams. The Academy was born of Coach Arjona's desire to teach young soccer players to love the game while developing a philosophy and playing style that would make them successful on and off of the field. For Coach Arjona, "United" means a love of the game of soccer, love and respect for teammates and coach, and most importantly, love for one’s self. "United" also means togetherness. The United Academy has players of many races, religions, creeds and languages...for the coach and founder, it is imperative that players transfer their pride in their cultural background to their love of the game of soccer. The goal of the MSC UNITED Academy is to assemble teams with a multi-cultural flavor, tremendous commitment from players and parents focusing on the team concept rather than individual players. The academy has produced many top soccer players to national, college, academy, high school, and club levels. TRYOUTS FALL 2011 MSI Pythons and Vipers U11 boys classic born between 1 August July 2000 and younger is looking for speedy, skillfull, and commmitted players for the Fall 2011. Tryouts are on Mondays at 4:30 PM and Thursdays at 6:15 PM at Tilden center. If you are interesting please contact coach Arjona at mscunited29@aol.com or 240-380-5590. Players need to be born from 1 august 2002 to 31 July 2003. Fall 2011 Our academy will be responsible for 6 teams during Fall 2012. Our director will be coaching two travel teams: U13 boys Olney Roadrunners NCSL division 1 with 18 players roster, and U13 boys Olney United Premier NCSL division 5 with 18 players roster, too. In addition, he will be coaching 4 classic teams such as U16 MSI United 96 high school division 2 with 20 players roster, U13 MSI Spartans division 1 with 17 players roster, U11 MSI Vipers division 1 with roster of 12 players, and U11 MSI Pythons division 3 with 14 players. Coach Arjona will be training U13 MSI United girls team. Summer 2011 The academy had a great success with three camps during the summer. We had 110 elite and classic players during our summer camps. Our 3x3 academy team finished finalist on the local region tournament in Yardley, Pa, and finished sixth place in the regional tournament in Lancaster, Pa. Spring 2011: The academy will be involved with 7 teams during the Spring season 2011. The teams are U12 Olney Roadrunners NCSL division 1, U12 Olney United Premier NCSL division 6, U15 MSI United 96 classic div 1, U12 MSI Spartans classic div 1, U10 Vipers and Pythons. In addition, U12 MSI United (girl team) has been trained by our director. Winter 2010/11 The academy had 4 teams in the Rockville Futsal league. U12 United academy AC Milan won U12 boys division. The academy had three teams in the Maryland futsal state cup, one team United academy Barcelona finished first, and qualified for the regional futsal cup. This team finished second at the regional tournament, and qualified for the national cup. In addition, MSI United 96 U15 boys won indoor league session 2 in Rockville sport plex. Fall 2010: The academy will be responsible for 7 teams during the season 2010/11. Coach Julio Arjona will be coaching and training 7 teams at Classic and Premier level. Those teams are Olney Roadrunners U12 NCSL division 1, Olney United Premier U12 NCSL division 6, MSI United 96 classic division 1, MSI Spartans classic division 1, MSI Green-Machine Classic division 1, and two new U10 classic teams United Vipers and Pythons. In addition, he is going to be volunteer coach and trainer at Clarksburg High school 3A Champions in 2009. Summer 2010: Coach Julio Arjona was invited to be assistant coach on a residential camp in West Virginia University. Coach Arjona was able to coach the high school's players versus the West Virginia soccer squad. The camp was to identify possible players to be able to attend and play at West Virginia University. Congratulations to Coach Arjona to continue his coaching development at college level. The academy lost on the final of the regional mid-atlantic Kick-it 3x3 tournament. The team qualifies to Disney World National Championship on January 2011. Congratulations to Wesley, Brook, Jamie, Felix, Jordan, and Jacob. The academy was able to participate in two great tournaments. The national futsal tournament was held in Long Beach, Ca. The team finished third nationally. Congratulations to Drew, Felix, Jamie, Wesley, Vlad, Toni, Gabriel, Jannick, and Brook. Spring 2010: Olney Roadrunnners finished third in the NCSL division 1 with a record of 6-1-2, Olney United Premier finished with a record of 2-6-1 on division 6 NCSL, MSI United U14 classic division 1 finished second, MSI Spartans finished 2nd in classic division 1, and MSI United White and Black had great seasons during the Spring 2010. Feb 15, 2010 United academy Arsenal won Northeast regional futsal tournament in York, Pa. The team started with a lost to Azzurri FC 5-3. On the second day, the team was able to rebounce back with a winning to Deon of Lion and CDC Revolution 3 nil and 4-3. On the third day, the team was able to beat Manhattan Kickers in the semi-final 4-2, and able to have a great game against Deon of Lions in the final winning 3-2. Congratulations to Drew, Felix, Jamie, Brook, Jannick, Samuel, Gabriel, Xavier, Wesley, and Ian to follow the academy's tradition to couple national futsal tournament championships, many regional championships, and state futsal cups. The team qualifies for the US national futsal tournament from 8 to 11 July 2010 in Long Beach, Ca. PEABO DOUE IS SCORED FIRST GOAL IN COLLEGE FOR WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY IN OT. WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY BEAT BUFFALO UNIVERSITY IN OVER TIME.

Four freshman players were able to make the varsity teams in high school: Freddy N, Miguel H, Michael A, and Tobi A. Congratulations.

The academy will be involved with 8 teams and three clubs during Fall 2009. Coach Julio Arjona will be the head coach for the Olney Roadrunners U-11 NCSL. This team is one of the top teams in the area. So far, this team is undeafeded in the NCSL; Olney United Premier U-11 NCSL; MSI United Black and White U-10 classic; MSI Spartans U-11 classic; MSI United U-14 classic division 1; assistant coach with the Bethesda Fire (Region 1 tournament finalist U-13) and NCSL division 1; Bethesda Revolution NCSL division 2; and D.C United U-15 academy.
August 31:

August 29:
Olney United Premier U-11 was able to win three games in the August Cup this past weekend. The team finished undefeaded but the team was not able to play the final because the weather. Congratulations.
August 8:
United academy Arsenal qualified for the National 3x3 Kick tournament in Orlando, Florida. The tournament will be on January 2010.
July 22:
Five players from the academy: Paul Torres (Maryland), Julio Arjona (West Virginia), Chris Hangini (Ohio State), Shaq Phillip (Duke), and Sam Bradley played on the final of the academy in California. D.C United U-18 team lost 1-0 to Carmel FC. Congratulations.
ODP 2009:
The academy was able to add three players to the region 1 ODP and National U-15 pool: National U-15 pool: Freddy Nzekele, ODP region 1 (95): Toby Adewale, and ODP region 1 (96): Michael Akinkoye. These players were trained by Julio Arjona from U-8 to U-13 at the MSC United 96 Premeir and Olney Arsenal teams.

Olney Arsenal NCSL division 1 team combined with Bethesda Fire and Revolution teams during the summer. Freddy, Michael, Tobi, and Miguel made the Bethesda Fire Team. Alejandro and Jeffrey made the Bethesda Revolution team. Congratulations.
United Academy Futsal team U-10: Finished third in the National Futsal Cup tournament in Baltimore with a record of 3 W and 2 L. The academy was able to beat the team from California MASCA. MASCA won the tournament. Congratulations.
United Academy Arsenal won 3x3Kick tournament. The team will move on to the regional tournament in Lancaster, PA.

Bethesda Roadrunners/MSC United 92
BETHESDA ROADRUNNERS AND MSC UNITED 92: The two teams produced quality players to the academy system and national level. RR and MSC were strong competition from early age. MSC United 92 never was able to beat the RR but they provided great competition in the league, tournaments, and state cup. From these teams, we have three players in the U-17 national team, 7 players in the DC United Academy and 5 players in the Potomac Academy.
