MSC Lakers U-14 Boys: Laker News
Lakers Take Two
The Lakers knocked out two early morning friendlies at Pelican Park in preparation for the Memphis Superclubs tournament. While missing bodies from conflicting functions and injury, the Lakers threw a hodgepodge of players out in rather interesting positions in games against the Gulfport Dynamo U14 team, and the CYSA U15 D-1 team.
In the first game the Lakers started off slow but even with the entire starting midfield out, proved just a little too talented for the Dynamo. Eric Guin got the scoring started with a blast from the eighteen off a Parker Pasterollo assist and the avalanche was started. The Lakers ended up with 6 goals including a bending upper ninety beauty from the midfield by LJ Spady, and a perfectly hit lofting teardrop from 25, by Michael Ferrer. Add a brace by Mason Cook, and Eric Guin and the scoring was complete. Kudos to Larry Newby for exemplary keeper play with his entire arm in a monstrosity of a shoulder brace.

In the second, the Lakers put up a lackluster uneven performance. Thanks to two goals by Barrick Roberts, and a corner kick finisher by LJ Spady, the Lakers managed to make a below average performance look like a dominant showing on the score sheet.
Welcome back to Hunter Gebbia who spent the day getting his legs and timing back, after returning from injury.
