Millstone Roosevelt Little League: My Site News: League Organization Details
The Millstone-Roosevelt Little League (MRLL), is a chartered affiliate of the International Little League Organization headquartered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. MRLL participates within District 12 in the New Jersey State Little League, and draws players from the municipalities of Millstone Township and the Borough of Roosevelt.
Each year, MRLL helps 500+ boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 learn and enjoy our national pastime.
MRLL is organized and operated by a Board of Directors, which consists currently of 15 dedicated volunteers who work year round preparing for the forthcoming season. The Board is responsible for fund raising, registration, field preparation, coach selection and safety training. We are always looking for new members to help out.
Click here to see the current set of board positions and responsibilities.
The League is organized into age-related divisions for both boys and girls. Children who are turning 5 before August 1st are eligible to start playing T-Ball, which has both boys and girls in the same division. After T-Ball, boys are organized into baseball divisions, and girls into softball divisions. Note that there is no specific rule that says that girls have to play softball, and we have had a number of girls play baseball over the years. Click here to check out the different divisions and some of the top-level rules that govern play.
Finally, check out the MRLL Yearly cycle for information on events and happenings throughout the course of a normal year (if there is such a thing). Please feel free to sign our guestbook and give us suggestions on what else should be included on the site.
And, be sure to check the website for updates on schedules, events, and fund raising initiatives throughout season.
