2012 Softball Message
MRLL,
As most of you are aware, the softball program has gone through some changes
within the last few seasons. Although we enjoyed combined play with the
Allentown program, after much discussion with Allentown and MRLL, we feel that
it is best that Millstone move forward as a standalone program. That being
said, we will be opening registration for our 2012 Millstone Little League
Softball program within the next 3 weeks.
Allentown will be sending you emails regarding their new Cal Ripken program, as
they are no longer going to be a part of Little League. Of course you are
welcome to register and play for any program of your choice. However, our hope
is that you choose to play in Millstone and help us move the program forward to
make it a first class organization. Historically, we have had one or two teams
per level and traveled to other towns to fill our schedule. We will once again
return to that format. Additionally, we are going to form a softball committee
so that interested parents can be a part of improving our Millstone Program.
To reiterate, you will receive solicitation emails from Allentown Redbird
softball; be aware that this is NOT OUR PROGRAM. Millstone is moving forward
with MRLL.
If you are not interested in Allentown Redbird Softball, you should unsubscribe
to their emails so that there is no confusion.
If you should have any questions or would like to be part of the softball
committee, please contact me at mrllsoftball@verizon.net or the MRLL President,
Chris Morris at mrllbaseball@gmail.com.
We are looking forward to a great 2012 MRLL Softball season.

Work Bond Message
vol·un·teer·ism
1: use of or reliance on volunteers, especially to perform social or educational work in communities
2: the act or practice of doing volunteer work in community service Being a non-profit organization we are dependent on people like you to offer donations of time in order to provide the basics of organized baseball for our children. Generous gifts of time (and money) are needed to make your child’s baseball experience a memorable one.
WE VALUE YOUR VOLUNTEERISM! A nominal workbond is being collected from each family with the hope that we may return it at the end of the season (that is, if you complete your volunteer assignment(s) or perhaps give more of your time than was required). Everyone is busy and no one is made of money. It is important that we responsibly follow through on our commitment to the 2 hours of service per family required, but that we also consider volunteering a few extra hours if at all possible. There is always plenty to do and we rely on the efforts of many to get the job done!
WE WANT TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK! You will be receiving more information regarding how you can “pitch” in, but of course please do not limit your time you donate to the minimum. We are relying on YOU to “step up to the plate”…for our children.
MRLL VOLUNTEER/WORKBOND PROGRAM
· A workbond of $50 will be required of each family registering in the league.
· 2 hours of service to the league will be required for the workbond to be returned to the family
· Example activities may be:
|
Umpiring |
Fundraising |
Parade/Picnic |
|
Snack stand Crew |
Manager/Coach |
Grounds Crew |
| Team Mom | Comittee Volunteer |
Cleanup Crew |
Please see a League Board member for information on these and other duties.
- Every effort will be made to return your workbond as soon as the 2 volunteer hours have been completed.
- Please respect the many other volunteers in the league that depend on you by keeping your commitments. If for some reason you need to reschedule or postpone a commitment to volunteer service, please notify the proper parties and make every effort to find a replacement.
