Skills Drills:  (bring stick, colored mouthguard w/o attachment, shin guards, cleats)

  • Location:  Cherokee H.S. Freshman Field Hockey Field (near tennis courts)
  • Juniors start Monday, August 15
  • Seniors start Tuesday, August 16
  • Junior League Skills (3rd-5th Grade) - Mon & Wed @6p-7pm
  • Senior League Skills (6th-8th Grade) - Tues/Thurs @6pm-7:30pm
  • Games Start the Weekend of September 10, 2011 
About the MRC Girls Field Hockey Program
We play other MRC teams but also other towns such as Southampton Twp, Indian Mills, Florence & Pemberton.

Juniors (entering 3rd-5th grade in the fall) play 7v7 including goalie, Junior games are played on Saturday
Seniors (entering 6th-8th grade in the fall), play 11 on 11 including goalie, Seniors play on Sunday afternoons.


Skills Drills (August) will be held 2x per week at night at Cherokee High School.  Practices will be held 2x's per week at the Evesham Middle schools and Cherokee High School Freshman field hockey field.  Check the "CALENDAR" tab often for updates

All away games will be held at Southampton Twp, Indian Mills, Florence & Pemberton.  Our Home Field will be DeMasi & Marlton Middle for the Junior league.   The seniors Home Field will be at Cherokee High School & Marlton Middle School. We hope to have at least one game on the Memorial Park Turf field this year. 


Team Shirts and Socks will be provided for the girls.  Colored Mouthguards (without strap), shinguards and soccer cleats are mandatory in order to practice and play.  They are the responsibility of each girl.  Field Hockey sticks are available for use during the season, please email marltonfieldhockey@gmail.com to request one.

Our mission is to offer a program that will enable our young ladies to develop their understanding, skill set and game strategy for field hockey in order to excel in this sport in a fun and competitive manner.

State of New Jersey - Protective Eyewear Mandate:                     
Effective 8/3/06, All Athletes who wear corrective eyeglasses while participating in Girl’s Lacrosse, Basketball, Field Hockey, Soccer, Baseball and Softball shall be required to wear protective eyewear that meets the Frame Standard (ASTM F803) and the Lens Standard (ANSI Z87.1). Athletes will not be allowed to practice and / or play in non protective eyewear.  This policy is being enacted due to an Act C.5:18-1 which requires protective eyewear for certain children participating in sports.  We created the policy to cover sports currently competing in the MRC program.  For more information on the state mandate, click on this website:

Stick Starz (USA Field Hockey)                             

Ages 8-11 USA Field Hockey is proud to present an EXCITING opportunity for athletes ages 8-11 in New Jersey. Designed specifically for girls ages 8-11, StickStarz introduces young players to the game of field hockey while building a foundation of solid skills. StickStarz consists of eight, 1 ½ hour sessions with 45 minutes dedicated to skill development and 45 minutes dedicated to fun games, which are designed to enhance and reinforce the skill development. StickStarz is an Olympic Development program that serves as the feeder system directly into the already nationally recognized and successful Futures Program. 1st Thursday of every month 8:30 PM - MRC General Meeting Learn about upcoming MRC events and operations.  Pose questions and present ideas with regards to operations of our Non-Profit organization and involvement with Evesham Township.  Meetings are held at the MRC Building-15 Oak Ave, Marlton.

What you Need for Skills Drills, Practices & Games

You must have the following pieces of equipment in order to play in the MRC Girls Field Hockey program.

1.  Mouthguard
2.  Shin guards (soccer)
3.  Cleats (soccer)
4.Colored Mouthguard
We have some extra field hockey sticks for use during the season.  You must sign out the stick and return the stick at the end of the season.  If you do not return the stick, a nominal fee will be due.  If you are interested in buying your own field hockey stick, information on our website shows you what to look for in a stick.
