MPRA 2014 Basketball Season Info

***** Coaches Needed *****

MPRA is seeking coaches for the upcoming basketball season.  Anyone interested, please send an email to MPRABasketball@gmail.com with your name and the age group you would like to coach.

All coaches are required to complete a background check.  This can be completed on the MPRA registration site (SportsSignup) located at https://mprasports.sportssignup.com.  For any questions, inquire at the email address above.

MPRA Basketball will continue to partner with Madison Academy

MPRA and Madison Academy recreation leagues joined forces last year, and for the most part it was a huge success.  Both leagues will still build their own teams, and the game schedule will mix MPRA and MA teams against one another.  This was beneficial for both leagues.  Most MPRA games will be held at the typical MPRA sites, but some games will be held at Madison Academy.  Please represent MPRA with class and enjoy the fantastic basketball facilities at MA.

MPRA will continue to offer Recreation Plus (Rec+) basketball

See the news section of the is site for further details.

2014/15 MPRA Basketball Info

Registration for the upcoming season will begin in September.  The registration fee is about $100, and the purchase of a uniform is required (usually about $40).

To play at MPRA, the child must reside in one of these elementary school zones:  Harvest, Monrovia, Legacy, or Endeavor.

Typically, practices will begin around the 1st week of November, and games will start around the 1st week of December.  Each team will have 2 or 3 basketball related events per week, but nothing on Wednesdays or Sundays.  The regular season ends in February, with a post-season tournament to follow.  Practices and games are held at several locations in the Monrovia/Harvest area, including the Monrovia Community Center (MCC) and the local elementary schools.  Unfortunately, some teams are required to travel to other Madison county sites for games.

The league is run by the MPRA Basketball Board, which is under the MPRA organization.  All coaches, assistant coaches, and board members are volunteers.
