Monrovia Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA) is dedicated to meeting the recreational needs of the youth living in the Monrovia and surrounding communities of Madison County.  MPRA was established in 1993 as a private, nonprofit, open to the public, comunity supported organization, and is the owner/operator of Phillips Park.  MPRA has nonprofit status as a 501 (c) (3) organization (under IRS rules) effective Feb 9, 1994, IRS Tax EIN 63-1087837.

MPRA Basketball Registration is Still Open

Registration for the 2014-2015 MPRA Basketball season is open.  All players and coaches are encouraged to sign up online at https://mprasports.sportssignup.com  

Regular registration will end soon.  See the Basketball page for additional information, including in-person registration times and the tryout schedule.

2014 Volleyball Clinic with Laura Taube

This camp is for ages 8-14.

This camp will be held at Monrovia Community Center. Monday, August 4, 2013 5-7 Tuesday, August 5, 2013 5-7 Cost: $75.00

You can register the first day of clinic. Your child will also receive a free t-shirt with paid registration.

Head Clinician: Laura Taube, Former Head Volleyball Coach for the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

You can register at the door on August 4, 2014.

Policies and Procedures

MPRA allows for the rental of their fields in accordance with the approved policies and procedures.

Wednesday, July 23
2014 Co-Ed Volleyball Registration

Girls and boys ages 9 to 18 are eligible to play. Evaluations: Monrovia-Harvest Community Center on August 9, 2014 10U & 12U - 9:30 - 11:30 15U & 18U - 1:00 - 3:00 Cost: $85.00, includes team shirt and socks.

If paying by check, please bring it to Evaluations on August 9. If you do not bring it, your child will not be assigned to a team. Also, your check must clear payment before uniform is ordered.


This year we are adding an 8U skill building league. Ages for this league are 6 to 8. The focus for these guys are skills building. They will have fun game after practice. This will be 1 day commitment. Cost : $50.00, includes team shirt. If paying by check or cash, please bring it to MCC on August 9 between 9:30 - 3:00. If you can not make it, please email: mpravolleyball@gmail.com. If you know someone with a child in this age range, please forward this email. Also, if you feel you child is 8 years old and would not benefit from this new league, and would like to play up to 10U, please email address above before registration.

Who:  Anyone may attend and ask questions, when recognizied.
  ** Only current MPRA members may vote.
