WELCOME TO THE OFFICAL SITE OF WATERFORD MOTT FOOTBALL... "where athletics and academics meet"
Waterford is located about 32 miles north of Detroit, in the center of Oakland County, Michigan.
The Waterford School District athletic programs compete in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA), which is part of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). New for the 2008-2009 school year, Waterford athletic programs will begin to compete in the newly formed Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA).
Waterford Mott football has had a tradition of athletic and academic success. The team was league champs in 1970 and 1973 (Westeren-Six) with records of 8-1, and in 1999 (OAA II) with a record of 6-4. Waterford Mott was ranked 5th in the state in 1973 and competed in the state playoffs in 1999 and 2006. The football program has always believed that athletes must be students first and this is why the program has achieved Academic All-State honors for the past 10 seasons along with numerous Leadership and Community Service awards.
During the 2001/2002 school year the Michigan Department of Education designated Waterford Mott High School as a Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary School. The Blue Ribbon, the most prestigious education award in the state, distinguishes Waterford Mott for its excellence in leadership, teaching, curriculum, student achievement, parent involvement, and community support.
