Motor City Wrestling Club Takes Another!
2006-2007 Sign Ups
Motor City Warriors Wrestling Club Chippewa Valley Schools Youth Wrestling Program
At Chippewa Valley High School For kids ages 5 up to 8th grade.
Registration was Tuesday and Wednesday October 24th and 25th at Chippewa Valley High School, if you still would like to register your child, please feel free to contact Coach Schutt.
For children who will be 5 yrs of age by Dec. 2007 or are not beyond eighth grade, here is an opportunity to come join a sport that will challenge an athlete's speed, strength, balance, and smarts. Wrestlers will be instructed to learn folkstyle (high school) wrestling, and practices will be held twice a week for approximately 23 weeks, beginning in November. Competitive tournaments are held on weekends beginning in January 2007. All wrestlers will compete in their age and weight classes. This club is a chance for wrestlers to get out and wrestle kids from all over the state and around the nation. If you know the sport of wrestling you know that with few exceptions, state high school champions are individuals who have wrestled in their younger years. Registration was Oct. 24th & 25th. However, if you still would like to register your child, please email your questions to the email address below. You will need a copy of your childs birth certificate and the $65 registration fee (if your child was a member last year, his birth certificate should be on file; also, families registering more than one child will receive a $5 discount on each child registered after the first). We will be wrestling in the MYWAY and/or USA League. Registration fee includes MYWAY entry fees, T-shirt and a wrestling uniform (singlet), which will be distributed prior to the first match in January and retuned to us at the end of the year. Any questions please call Earl Schutt @ 412-9398 or John Jeffire @ 723-2605. Also E-mail Earl at: ESchutt@wowway.com or John at JJeffire@cvs.k12.mi.us. Information on Motor City Wrestling Club can be found on the web at http://eteamz.active.com/motorcitywrestlingclub Information on the MYWAY can be found at: http://mywaywrestling.com.

2007- 2008 Welcome Letter
Welcome to Motor City Wrestling Club.
If you’re a returning wrestler welcome back, if you are new this year welcome to our club. This is our 5th year as a club and we look forward to another great year. We will be wrestling in the MYWA wrestling league again this year. As in past years there are a lot of new changes this year. As our club continues to grow, we would like to make sure our practices and our tournaments run as smooth as possible. If you have been with our club you know things can get hectic without the help and involvement of our parents. I will be discussing the new changes and some old rules in a MANDATORY Parent meeting; this will be held on Monday November 12, 2007. This meeting will be held in the Cafeteria at 7:00. This meeting is very important and at least one parent needs to be present.
Our first day of practice will be November 20. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. Kindergarten thru 5th grade will practice from 6-7:00 and 6th thru 8th grade will practice 7-8:30. Because we only have limited time, please have your wrestler ready to go when practices start. We are a non-profit organization and our coaches are all volunteers. We encourage/recommend parent involvement. If you have never wrestled before don’t worry you can still get on the mat and help. If you do plan on stepping on the mat please no out side shoes (I have some practice shoes parents can wear, just ask). If you don’t get your wrestler a pair of shoes right away don’t worry they can practice in socks.
Your entry fee includes a t-shirt, water bottle and the use of a club singlet (uniform). T-shirts and water bolles will be handed out Nov. 12. The singlet’s will be handed out later in the year. We do require a refundable check for $55.00. The singlet’s are not to be worn at practice and are for tournaments only. We will be handing out clothing order forms this year at our parents meeting. If you would like to order any of the items they are due back December 5th. We will have these back before Christmas this year. These might be good Christmas gifts.
We are planning a banquet at the end of the year. If you have any suggestions or comments please see one of our coaches or wives.
Thank you,
Earl Schutt
