Wal-Mart awards grant for youth tennis
YUCCA VALLEY__
Wal-Mart awarded a $1000 Community Grant Dec. 14, to the Morongo Basin Tennis Association at the local Wal-Mart here. The grant is to be used to support youth tennis throughout the Basin.
Annual youth tennis programs include: Junior Team Tennis, Friday Night Teen Tennis, USA School Tennis (elementary/middle schools), high school tennis teams at Yucca Valley High School and Twentynine Palms High School, Winning in Tennis - Leadership - Life and National Junior Tennis & Learning.
“Wal-Mart has been a ‘friend’ to Basin tennis for over eleven years,” said Gideon Smith, president, Morongo Basin Tennis Association. “These much needed funds will help provide racquets, balls, tennis gear and program scholarships for kids from low-income families from all our communities.”

Junior Team Tennis
It's fun to play tennis on a team with friends while representing your community. Teams practice during the week, after school for at least 90 minutes, and play matches on Saturday mornings. For more information call the Morongo Basin Tennis Association at (760) 365-3851.
Ages: Boys & Girls, 6-18, all skill levels
Season: March 5 - May 19, 2012
