Moreno Valley Running Club (MVRC): Club Mission
Moreno Valley Running Club Mission Statement
Moreno Valley Running Club: is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages distance running, sprinting, jumping and jogging to K-12th grade students and community members. MVRC’s mission is to create community leaders and positive role models through promoting and conducting varies running camps and activities throughout the year. MVRC promotes educational values through donations to local school programs and scholarships. MVRC promotes community involvement through group runs on Sunday mornings and races through out the year. We carry out our mission through unique programs, camps and events:
Big Bear Youth Running Camp: Big Bear youth running camp gives high school youth the opportunity to attend a 4 day running camp in the high peak mountains of Big Bear California. Youth members learn running techniques as well as leadership skills though the experience of guess speakers and coaches with similar life experiences. The camp not only gives them the running edge, but also teaches them the importance of being good role models for younger runners and siblings back at home.
Winter and Summer Running Program: MVRC conducts two running programs per year. These programs are designed for K-12th grade students who wish to get in shape for an upcoming season or just continuing a healthy life style. Students learn proper stretching techniques, proper running form through drills and circuit training, and good eating habits. Each camp is 4 weeks long and part of the proceeds go towards Big Bear Youth Running Camp and our Scholarship Fund.
