League Champions 2009 Roselea celebrated winning the East region North League in style with a few "old faces" wanting to get their hands on the trophy.

Sportsmans Dinner 2009 The 2009 Dinner took place at the Park Hotel on Jan 31st following a great win over Dyce which saw the club progress to the last 16 of the Junior Cup.
MC Sheriff Lindsay Wood bossed the event in his usual style and congratulated the team on their achievments so far this season.
Ralph Mennie promised to shock and did so in style. No-one was safe and after consuming a large volumne of Duff Beer he set about the crowd. The Club President was in tears at a story about his love-life still be ever burning.
Duncan McKenzie- the Mini Jumper from Stockport gave a humourous account of his time in Football including his short experience of Mr Clough.
John Gahagan showed that he is one of the countries top Speakers with his usual voiciferous approach. Telling the audience not to get drawn in he managed to get them to do so and rounded off another tremendously succesful evenings entertainment.
The Club did well in the Auction and the Hospitality for the forthcoming match with Petershill was sold off at a premium.

Sportsmans Dinner 2008
The 4th Sportsmans Dinner was held on Feb 2nd 2008 at the Park Hotel.
MC'd by Roger Brunton the Carnoustie Architect it has been widely described as the best yet. A plasma TV was used in the rear area to aid with the "restricted viewing" issue and another great line-up ensured a great avening was had.
John McGovern the Montrose born Nottingham Forest twice winning European Cup captain opened the evening and his Brian Clough imitations went down a treat.
Sandy Strang the Pollok fan and ex newspaper journalist was on next and his timing with jokes was spot on. A great song about foreign food had the audience in raptures. Straight faced all the way through apart from one small smirk he is the best speaker we have had.
Patrice back to take up the rear again was on the last spot he so loves. The helium full Highland Julian Clairy did what he does best- shocked. He gave a new meaning to a Toe Job and rounded off another great evenings entertainment for the club.
2009 in the planning now

GA CUP 2007
Click on title above to view pictures
The 2007 GA Cup Final was conested at Station Park Forfar between Roselea and rivals Forfar West End.
Roselea took the lead through Scott Findlater and things looked even better for Roselea when McKenzie was red carded on 40 minutes. Somehow Roselea stopped playing and West End deservedly drew level through Mcconnachie. Calum Watson went close for Roselea near the end so it was on to the dreaded penalties.
An amazing 25 were taken and included both goalkeepers. Roselea held their nerve and eventually won 12-11 (I think).
The juice flowed in the dressing room and a great night was had by all.

Sportsman's Dinner 2007
The 2007 Dinner took place in the Park Hotel on Feb 10th. 200 Guests were packed into the hotel for what proved to a great evenings entertainment.
Brian McGinlay opened proceedings by flashing red & yellow cards as if in his refereeing heyday and announced that he had sent off Montrose FC legend Dennis Darcy. Brian then proceeded to rip into Roselea players and officials in his normal style.
Bill Leckie proved to be a great find. He was lucky to find the venue as his new Sat Nav almost sent him into a head on crash with a lorry! Best story was the World Cup one in Germany 2006.
Donald Findlay tidied up proceedings and somehow managed to control an over enthusiastic audience. Straight faced for most of the night the QC came to life. One small mention of Rangers and Ireland then he went onto what he is best at, a Stand up comedian. Some great jokes were told as he waded into the audience. No-one was safe and he truly brought the house down. Probably the best speaker we have heard in three years and will be welcome back to Montrose anytime.
2008 here we come!

Sportsmans Dinner 2006

The 2006 Dinner took place on January 28th with geust speakers; Sheriff Lindsay Wood MC, Bill Copeland, Andy Goram & Patrice.
After an afternoon showing Mr Goram some of the finer points of Montrose, the evening "kicked off" with the top table line up photo.
Lindsay Wood opened the Dinner and later showed his enthusiasm for Junior Football with a fine display.
Bill Copeland brought the house down with his superb dry sense of humour and barely a soul from the Roselea were spared any blushes. The Pollock fan had to be brought to a close when everyone wished he could have been left to go on all night.
Andy Goram gave indepth experiences of what it was like inside Rangers during the Walter Smith days as well as giving an insight into 2026.
Patrice was left to "take up the rear" and he certainly did in style by warming the crowd to the delights of Benachie his "heeland home". Many tears were shed as the man on helium made Julian Clary seem ordinary.
All in all another great night for Roselea and many special memories will be shared by all.
Thank you everybody!!

9 Teams entered the reserected Amateur contest with the favourites St Laurence select winning a tight final.
Hope to see you all back next year again for another enjoyable day!

Sportsmans Dinner 2005

The Clubs first Sportsmans Dinner was held on Saturday Jan 29th 2005. Guest speakers were, Brian McGinlay,Jim Downie,Frank Macavennie and Frank Robb. A great night was had by all and at the end of it a few pounds were raised to improve the facilities and hopefully fund a trip to the Superleague next season. The club would like to thank everyone who attended including indivduals and businesses who took tables.
MC Jamie Pert opened the evening, and described his playing days at the club and how the club has survived thanks to David Robertson.
Brian McGinlay brought the house down with his Old Firm stories and the odd Drink Driving Tale.
After losing his water wings, Jim Downie let rip with his usual mix of local and topical treats.
Frank Macavennie was bound to reveal his past and the crowd were not disappointed. From Page 3 to Andy Roxburgh he enlightened the audience on the seedier side of football with few F&Cs thrown in.
Frank Robb completed the night with a blend of music and p.ss taking, forcing the audience to remain on their seats and give the toilet a miss!!
Thank You For Your Support

DJ Laing Cup Final 2003

On a momentous day for the Club, perhaps one of the biggest turning points in recent years, Roselea turned in great performances to reach the final of the League Cup. Tailor made with the exclusion of the three Super League teams, Roselea went on to win 4-2 against Forfar West End. Few could argue that the day belonged to two certain brothers from Fettercairn, not to mention their fathers David Pleat style celebrations!!!

DJ Laing Cup Final 2004
Click on above link for more pictures
The Club managed to retain the DJ Laing Cup in some style by beating Scottish Cup winners Carnoustie 3-0 at our lucky ground Strathmore Park, Forfar. On a truly remarkable day for the club Scott Findlater and Calum Watson (2) goals gave the club one of their best ever results. Carnoustie can point to playing for 70 minutes with 10 men in their defence but with Scott Findlater & James McKellar on fire with 9 others not far behind there was only going to be one winner. The celebrations carried on long into the night (well for some anyway)!!
