Cats 7-1 over Snohomish on Senior Day
In a must win to remain in the hunt for the 5th spot out of Wesco North, the Bearcats managed a 7-1 win on a rainy afternoon. With drizzle to start
the game the Cats pulled out to a 2-0 lead in the third. Snohomish closed the gap with one in the 4th and as the rain got heavier the Cats widened the
margin with 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th. With rain threatening to end the contest short of the 5th inning, Snohomish was retired in order and the
game ended due to rain. The Bearcats finish up their regular season at Stanwood Friday afternoon as they continue to battle to get into the district tournament.
Cats go to 4-8 with win over Cascade
After a tough conference start the Bearcats managed wins against Everett and Marysville to get back on the winning track. A disapointing loss to
Oak Harbor was quickly followed up with a nice win against Cascade to get the Cats back into contention for a spot into the District tournament. The game
was a back and forth struggle until Briar Stanley hit a solo home run and Catherine Brakke and Andie Vye came up with key RBI's to take the lead and the win.
The cats will be back in action against Snohomish and Lake Stevens this week.
Cats Bounce Back with Long Ball
After two tough losses last week to Marysville and Everett, the Bearcats bounced back with a win over Oak Harbor, 17-0. Two solo home runs in the
first inning from Briar Stanley and Devan Larsen set the pace and gave Alexa Haberlack all the run support she needed as she pitched a 2 hit complete
game. Nicole Rogers followed up the early inning hitting with a two run home run and had 5 RBI's. Briar Stanley sent another over the left field fence and
had three RBI's. The Cats take on Cascade tonight.
2009 Bearcat Softball Camp
On March 28th, 40 campers, grades K-6 got the opportunity to work with the Monroe Varsity softball team and coaches at the second
annual Bearcat Softball Camp. Campers watched the Varsity team perform demonstrations on pitching, catching and infield drills before going through
a five station, three hour camp. Stations covered the fundamentals of fastpitch softball where they would performed drills covering windmill pitching,
catching, throwing, hitting, fielding, base running and sliding techniques. Team cheers wrapped up the day and the end to another successful camp.
Bearcats, 2-2 with win against Kamiak
The Bearcats wrapped up their non-conference schedule with a win against Kamiak, 10-1. Hannah Strumpfer tossed a 3 hitter with 2 walks
and 2 strike outs and recorded her first High School Varsity win. Briar Stanley got her first and second home run of the season driving in
5 of the Cats runs. Emily Guluarte went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI, Catherine Brakke (2-for-3 with a double),
Emily Drivstuen (2-for-3) and Devan Larsen (2-for-3). The defense had only one error on 19 put outs and 14 assists.

Bearcats get their first win of the season
The Bearcats took a 6-1 win over Bothell Thursday night to go 1-2 overall. Alexa Haberlack made her debut start in the circle
and went the distance giving up only 5 hits, one earned run and 4 K's for her first HS Varsity win. After a 1-1 tie in the first, Alexa got
all the run support she would need as the Cats scored 3 in the third, 1 in the 4th and 1 in the 7th. Briar Stanley went 3 for 3 with a
double and 2 RBI's, Emily Guluarte went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and Nicole Rogers went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. The Bearcats take on Kamiak
tonight at home at 4:00 pm. BOX SCORE
