Important Dates

Saturday, June 10, 2017: Closing Day Ceremony and BBQ

Come out to watch the farm, minors, and majors teams play their final games. Then join us for a free BBQ,  presentation of awards and team trophies/medals, announcement of the all-star teams, and family friendly games. It is a fun day for everyone, even those players not playing a game on Saturday! Games start at 9:00 a.m. Food will be ready after the games, around 12:00 p.m. We hope to see everyone there! 

 

Saturday, April 29, 2017: Opening Day Ceremony

The ceremony begins at 10:00am at Whitmore ballfields. Please arrive dressed in uniform at 9:30am to line up. Programs will be passed out with the photo and game schedule.

Tentative Photo Schedule (the final schedule will be in the program and times may vary depending on when games end):

8:30-9:30 Any team that wants to take photos at this time

10:45 Sand Gnats, Giants, Dodgers

11:00 Nationals, Cubs

11:45 Storm, River Cats, Bats, Grasshoppers, Bulls, Scrappers

12:30 Red Sox, Royals

12:45 Angels, Padres, As, Cardinals 

The Women's Club will be hosting the Snack Shack from 10am-2pm. They will be selling hot dogs, drinks, and snacks from the consessions building that is located to the right of the parking lot near the track. The restrooms are also located in this building.

What to take to Opening Day:

Hats (There is no shade at Whitmore)

Sunscreen

Chairs for t-ball parents as your games are in the outfield where there are no bleachers. Bleacher chairs, if you have those, for games on fields 1 and 2.

Equipment for playing baseball

Appropriate clothing for cold and wind. (Whitmore can get windy) 

Other:

If you did not submit a volunteer application, you may not help out during practices or games. Volunteer applications will be available if you would like to volunteer. It takes about 48 hours to process.

Talk to a board member if you are interested in being on the board. There are several open positions. No baseball experience or knowledge is necessary.

 



Sponsorship
It is again the time of year to reach out to the community to ask for sponsorship money. The support of sponsors through the years has allowed us to keep league fees low for the hundreds of local children that play baseball each year. We have also been able to purchase new equipment including catcher’s gear, bats, balls and pitching aids.

Please refer to the enclosed/attached form for the different levels of sponsorship available. We hope you can commit to helping this year.
