Adam Sternbach,Freshman Try Again "Words to Inspire & Motivate to Never Give Up" Life is a long bumpy road. We each carry our troubles, like a heavy load. There are many hard turns and some dead ends, But whenever we're stuck we must Try Again. No one's got an easy ride, But failure can be pushed aside. When we give up hope nothing good can happen. So, when all seems lost you must Try Again. You can't have a meal, if you don't sit at a table. You won't learn the moral, if you don't read the table. You can't take control, if you're plagued by inaction. And you won't overcome loss if you don't Try Again. When the coin's in the air, if you don't pick heads or tails, Having not made a choice you are bound to fail. But if you choose and choose wrong, you can always win, Because on the next flip you can still Try Again. Those who succeed seem to have it made, Basking in the sunshine or lying in the shade. But they've been down too and it was just then, That they picked themselves up, so they could Try Again. So when your spirit is weak and you need to cry And you want to be happy, but you have to sigh, When things seem bleakest, that's the time when you must shrug it off and Try, Try Again. Wednesday, November 20 MPSC Banquet Becomes Tradition The MPSC Players, Parents and Coaches got a chance to sit reflect and say thanks for a SUCCESSFUL '2002 campaign. The team received a great lecture from Rutgers-Newark Head Coach Joe Lougrhan, who told the kids to work on the basics and learn everyday. The team had raffles, laughs and even touching moments when MPSC Player Mentor Timmy Lucas, read his speech. "Timmy's words meant a lot to me as Director, because they were true and from his heart," said Coach Tarver. Adam Sternbach, MPSC Player Mentor also addressed the audience, "saying that it is the team and friends that have become important". The team would also like to congratulate Adam Sternbach and AJ Rudowitz for being named MPSC Most Dedicated and Most Improved. The Team is focusing on '2003 and all the great times to come. If anyone is interested in helping out please email Coach Tarver at Icon13@optonline.net Power PA Tournament More Than Basketball With rain and a seasonal cold in the night air the Monmouth Power Basketball Club kept warm with conversation and good spirits. After a long day of traveling and games the Power decided to go out and dine as they always do, together as friends, together as a team, together as a family. During the course of the day the team was introduced to a new player joining the Monmouth Power 16's Ryan Kraft, a 6'5 Junior who hails from the Philadelphia area had met both Timmy Lucas and Coach Tarver at the The Hoop Group, Pocono Invitational Shooting Camp. When the team was introduced to Ryan he was treated like a long lost friend. The club embraced him and his parents with a kindness that only the MPSC could offer. The team also acknowledged the new members of the Monmouth Power Family the Weldon's John Sr. and Harry. The dinner had a lot of things to discussed from the sniper, politics, cigars, the rally monkey, tournaments, and SAT's. The dinner had a moment that as Director, I am very proud of. It's not the wins, the trophies or the acknowledgements we receive, but the team, which is truly a team was together in unity and sharing. "It is very rare in sports today to find what the MPSC has given not only me as Coach, but it has given parents, coaches and players different avenues, meaning its a road that we can all travel on to achieve our goals, ambitions and dreams. Thanks to the MPSC Family for a Successful Weekend: Rosa & Timmy Lucas, Bill & AJ Rudowitz, Adam Sternbach, Ryan Kraft, Phil Beggans, Maria & Justin Sandoval, Steve & Ethan Berlin, Chris, Kathy & Kevin Olivieri, Barry, Linda & Neil Messing, John Sr. & John Jr.(Harry) Weldon, Harris Feibischoff, Jeff Horowitz & Nouri Aktouf. Power Finishes Strong and Looks for Same in 2003 The MP 15's & 16's played well and finished the CT Force Tournament 6 - 0. Thanks to all the players that embodied the true nature of the sport.
