The Mon-Clair League is a men's amateur baseball league played during the summer months in the St. Louis area. In 1966, The St. Clair County League merged with the Monroe County League to form the Mon-Clair Baseball League. We have made a significant rules change in the off season regarding equipment. The NCAA recently approved the new BBCOR composite bat as its official bat for the 2011 baseball season and we have followed the lead. This bat was designed to best duplicate the affect of a wooden bat without the exposure of breakage. The NCAA has seen a reduced offensive production in terms of home runs and runs scored, so we will watch this closely to see what results we will see in that respect. The noticeabale difference is the inabilty of the ball to carry on a hit off of the handle of the bat compared to the old aluminum. We think this will help the pitchers overall. The Playoffs will be played from August 10th thru the 14th. Complete detailed scheduling will be posted after our April meeting. The Mon-Clair Baseball League offers the best amatuer baseball in the midwest at a baseball field near you - I look forward to seeing you there. Our website continues to improve and we are striving to improve every day. A special thanks to our Webmaster, Mike Francois. If you are seeking information and can not find what you are looking for, please contact me at dave.powell@supremecorp.com . Your input would be a valuable asset to the league. As Jack Buck would tell us - "from this time 'til next - so long" Dave Powell Mon-Clair League President |
