Conant High School Race just announced:

An email came to Ginger: “This is Ethan Ley and I felt that it would be a good idea to inform you as a part of the Monadnock Regional Milers that Conant High School's National Honor Society will be holding a 5k run on Saturday May 23rd in Jaffrey at the fire station. The details of the exact time and cost haven't been put together yet but the race will start at either 8:30 or 9:00 and the cost will be $15-20 as far as I have been informed and there will be t-shirts for the first fifty entrants. And I believe that there will be preregistration with forms being available here at the high school soon. If you could send out a blanket email about the race that would be very much appreciated as the proceeds from the race go to a scholarship given to a senior at the end of the year when he or she graduates.” More details as we hear about them!

Six Successful Chillers - The Winter Chiller series is over, spring is here, sort of, and we had a great turnout at almost every race. In fact there were some records set at the later races finishing off with 31 runners at Lisa & Ross Ramey’s end of the season run in Jaffrey. Many thanks to all who hosted the races and to Ginger for organizing the races this winter for everyone’s enjoyment.

Potluck Supper at Lisa’s On Saturday March 28th, many Milers went to Jaffrey to Lisa & Ross Ramey’s for our winter potluck dinner. Lisa and Ross arranged their house so we all had a wonderful sit down dinner. Folks brought all sorts of delicious main courses, salads, pasta, and the desserts were to “die” for. After dinner, as we celebrated Lights Out Hour with candlelight, the annual President’s Awards were given most appropriately to Stan Dutton, speedy senior runner and to Ross Ramey, the man behind our successful president.

The new board slate was announced and elections were held by acclamation for the entire slate. Everyone gave Lisa a big round of applause for all the work she has done for so long as our president!
