WHAT IS MAC-N-SEITZ BASEBALL
Mac-N-Seitz baseball is a competitive youth baseball program established by former Major League baseball players Kevin Seitzer and Mike Macfarlane. They retired from the major leagues only to become interested in giving back to the sport which had meant so much to them. Kevin and Mike have a desire to see quality baseball played at a high level at the youth ages. They want these young players to have fun with baseball, as well as be fundamentally sound. That's why the instructional facility at 137th and Holmes Road is a constant buzz of activity with young players honing their skills.
The Mac-n-Seitz competitive youth baseball program is made up of 11 teams ranging in age from U8 to U18, consisting of quality players from around the Kansas City area. Each team holds tryouts to fill their rosters, and each team has coaches selected by Kevin and Mike. Coaches attend an instructional workshop where baseball is taught the "Mac-n-Seitz" way. Each team will select it's own local, regional and national tournaments in which they will compete. When the season is over, each team will have played between 45 and 70 games.
All teams are self-supporting and operate on their own budgets. The teams are usually funded by individual and company contributions. Team expenses typically include league and tournament fees as well as uniform and equipment costs.
