BAT REQUIREMENTS FOR 2009

Majors and below

Bat Performance Factor (BPF) must be printed on the bat of BPF 1.15 (or less). Bats not meeting this rating requirement, or if the BPF is not printed on the bat, will not be allowed in 2009.

Juniors

Bats with a diameter of 2 3/4" are no longer permitted in the Junior Division. This is the only standard at this time for this division. Bats with a diameter of 2 5/8" or less are permitted.

Senior and Big League

Bats with a diameter of 2 3/4" are not permitted in Seniors or Big League. Bats with a diameter of 2 5/8" or less are permitted. The standard is the Ball Exit Speed Ratio (BESR) is the minus 3 requirement. The weight of the bat minus the length of the bat is how the BESR is determined.

Examples: 32" bat weighing 29 ounces is a -3 which is allowed.

32" bat weighing 25 ounces is a -7 which is not allowed.

   Wall Ball

"Wall Ball" is fun for many kids and is most of the time a harmless activity in the right environment. But after observing this activity, playing this game off the bathroom and snack bar walls, we have found that this is not the right environment.

It has been seen and we have heard from others accounts of drinks and food getting knocked over from the "Wall Balls". People have had their heaters hit and almost knocked over. Others have been hit, some in the face causing glasses to break or get knocked off. While it might not severely injure anyone it does not make for an enjoyable time at the park either.

There is room at the park, away from the spectators who are watching the baseball games, for kids to play other activities. There is also a large playground outside of fields #2 & #3.

The policy will be that no "Wall Ball" will be played against the building at LAHSP that houses the bathrooms, snack bar and electrical room.

The goal is to have an enjoyable experience at the park for not only the kids, but for the spectators of the baseball games. Thank you for your help in this matter.
