The Mitchell Memorial Club Youth Football program is always interested in dedicated and experienced coaches.  MMC Football is a volunteer league which is only possible with the dedication of its coaches, officials, and volunteers.

Coaching is a very rewarding way to be involved in your community.  A coach assumes the responsibility of doing everything neccesary to ensure that the children he is coaching will have an enjoyable and safe experience, while learning the fundamentals and skills of football.  Fun and Fundamentals are the keys to coaching success, and being a coach in the MMC Youth Football program requires a commintment of time, energy and patience.  Below you will find the Youth Sports Coaches Creed and an application to become a coach in the program.

MMCYF Coaches Creed:
All youth coaches have a standard to live up to - it is essential to positive development.  The following coaches creed should be a constant reminder of why we coach.

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for the players I coach while they participate in the MMC Youth Football program by following this Coaches Code of Ethics:

  • I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
  • I will treat each player as an individual.
  • I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.
  • I will promise to review and practice basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries.
  • I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players.
  • I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.
  • I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.
  • I will be knowledgeable in the rules of each sport that I coach, and I will teach these rules.
  • I will use those coaching techniques appropriate for all of the skills that I teach.
  • I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for children.
