Mount Laurel United (MLU) Comets Girls U-18 Soccer
The Mt. Laurel United (MLU) Comets are a Premiere U-18 Girls team from Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and surrounding areas. The team formed in the Fall of 1999 as a U-8 team. Since then, the Comets have consistently competed at the highest level possible for their age group and have competed in the top flight of tournaments entered. They have participated in some of the most prestigious tournaments in the area including WAGS, Jefferson Cup, Disney Showcase, Las Vegas Showcase and many other tournaments where the top teams in the country play. Last season, the Comets participated in the Region 1 and MAPS leagues. Many on the team have already committed to Division 1 colleges and all are looking forward to the upcoming season and preparing to compete at the college level.

Congratulations to Our State Champs!
Congratulations to our High School State Champions. Stephanie and the Haddonfield HS Bulldawgs are the Group 2 State Champions. Jill, Carolyn, Carley and the Lenape Indians are the 3-time Group 4 State Champions. Congratulations girls. The Comets are proud of you all.

Kelley Commits to Fordham
Kelley has verbally committed to attend Fordham University in Bronx, NY. Kelley will join the Fordham Rams women's soccer team in the Fall of 2010. Kelley joined the MLU Comets team this past Spring after being a regular guest player with the team. Kelley made the 2008 All South Jersey and All Conference teams and has been the top scorer and assists for her high school team for the last two years. Good luck at Fordham, Kelley!

Carly Commits to Iona
Carly has verbally committed to attend Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Carly will join the Iona Gaels women's soccer team in the Fall of 2010. Carly joined the MLU Comets team this past Spring and immediately contributed to the Comets offense in post-season play. Carly is a 3-year starter on her high school team at Colts Neck and led her team in goals and assists this past season in her Junior year. We wish Carly all the best at Iona.

New Head Coach for Comets
Socrates Nicolaidis has been named Head Coach and Trainer of the Mt. Laurel United Comets team. "Soc" is a licensed International Coach and is also Director of Elite Player Development for Youth Soccer Alliance. He is a former professional soccer player from Melbourne, Australia, and at 15 years and 361 days, he was the youngest player ever to appear in a National Soccer League game. He is still the youngest player ever to start a game for South Melbourne FC. The Comets are looking forward to working with Soc at the U18 level as they prepare to enter the college soccer arena. Welcome Soc to the Comets team.

Congratulations Graduates
Congratulations to our two High School graduates. Jessica L. graduated from Cherokee High School and will be headed off to Butler University in the Fall. Sarah graduated from Lenape High School and will be attending Fordham University in the Fall. We wish you both all the best in college. We will surely miss you!
