Viewing Party/Chapter Meeting

MLS Phoenix Rising's East Valley Chapter will be holding its next chapter meeting Sunday November 18 during halftime of the 2007 MLS Cup Final. The chapter is gathering for a viewing party of the match as well. Kickoff is at 10 AM. The chapter meeting will start at approximately 11:30 AM. We will be gathering on the patio at RTO Sullivan's Sports Bar in Mesa.

Game details: Houston Dynamo takes on the New England Revolution at DC United's RFK Stadium, in a rematch of last season's Cup final won by Houston on penalties. Houston looks for its second franchise title, which would equal the number of titles of the on-hiatus San Jose Earthquakes, while the Revs look for their first Cup win in their fourth attempt.
Meeting teaser: We will be discussing MLS franchise expansion around the country, namely Seattle, and what that means for Phoenix. We will also talk about the direction of MLS PR and organization plans to get in on the next round of expansion.

"MLS Phoenix Rising" will be divided into three (3) local chapters:
a. Southeast Valley
b. North/Central Valley
c. West Valley
Meetings will be held regularly and led by the Chapter President for each region.
AGENDA:
Monthly meetings will be held at a local restaurant on Thursday, or Saturday evenings with the meeting planned around MLS matches on TV. The agendas for each meeting will be designed to:
a. Increase general awareness of the group.
b. Increase membership of the group.
c. Create a petition list of people committed to purchase season tickets or ticket packages.
d. Begin the efforts of attracting corporate sponsors from the local community.
e. Increase media awareness of the group.
f. Invite former MLS players and current MLS front office staff members who are not local to attend monthly meetings.
g. Have our group's website linked from anything related to soccer in the Phoenix area.
h. At the direction of the Board of Directors, plan outreach events to spread the word of the group to attract a large membership base.
i. Take a meeting on the Road... Find out when MLS Commissioner Don Garber is going to be in LA for a Galaxy or Chivas
game and have the Board and key members take a monthly meeting to him. Have it at the hotel he is staying at and invite him to join us!
j. Increase awareness on websites such as Big Soccer and any soccer blog related websites.
