2012 Player Evaluation Dates

Majors and Minors
Player evaluations have been completed for Majors and Minors. Players should be contacted by their team manager by Wednesday, February 1.

Caps
For Caps, we will be holding evaluations on Saturday, February 4.Times are as follows:

 Saturday, February 4
8 year olds - 10am - Caps Field
7 year olds - 11:30am - Caps Field
6 year olds - 11:30am - Caps Field**

* League age is determined by how old the player will be on April 30, 2012.
** Must inform player agent if you want your child to try out for this division. It is not a guarantee that they will play in this division.

We will be accepting paperwork for late signups at the snack bar. Please email player agent Meg Willkomm at willkomm@cox.net if you will be signing up. Please check in at the snack bar at least 15 minutes before your scheduled evaluation time. All players must be present and warmed up by the time of their scheduled evaluation. Players should wear sweats or baseball pants, athletic shoes or cleats, and bring their own glove!

Little League International Announces Bat Rules Changes for 2012 Season 

In an effort to provide timely information on bat rules, Little League International recently announced the bat specifications and standards for the 2012 season.

For the Little League Major Baseball Division and below, the moratorium on composite-barreled baseball bats remains in effect. There are however some bats that have received waivers.

CONGRATS 2011 MTLL 9-10 ALL-STARS - DISTRICT 33 CHAMPS!

Last night’s loss ends magical season.

Mission Trails 9/10’s All-Star season came to an end last evening with a 12-1 loss to Oceanside American LL in the Sections 6 tournament held in Vista. Going into the Sections tournament, our 9/10’s had a perfect 5-0 record and a District 33 title. They ended their post season play going 6-2.

Manager Dave Ohton said, "The future looks promising based on how well our youth represented their league, coaches, parents, and most of all, their community in this All-Star season. On behalf of our coaches, we are very proud of what they accomplished in the five weeks they’ve been together. It's a testament to their character."

2011 MTLL 11-12 All-Stars

The 2011 MTLL 11-12 All-Stars tournament run came to an end on Tuesday with a loss to San Carlos.

The 11-12's played a great tournament and we're very proud of what they accomplished.

2011 MTLL 10-11 All-Stars

The 2011 MTLL 10-11 All-Stars lost a close game on Fridayby a score of 6-5 to San Carlos. Josh Pompa led the offense with a solo homer. The loss knocks the 10-11's out of the tournament. We're very proud of our 10-11's this year!

CONGRATS 2011 MTLL JUNIORS ALL-STARS - DISTRICT 33 CHAMPS!

Saturday was a great day for Mission Trails as it won its second District 33 All-Star flag of the 2011 season. The Mission Trails Juniors (13/14) stormed out of the losers bracket to win the District 33 All-Star Tournament. They clinched the flag with a double-header victory over Allied Gardens, winning the first game 14-5 and the second by a score of 21-3. Evan Durr hit three home runs on the day, Garrett Jarvis two and Tommy Fiato one. It's the second flag in a row for Mission Trails at the Juniors level.

The Juniors were knocked out of the All-Star Tournament in the Section 6 championship game. They finished with a 9-3 record on the season. Great job to all involved!

Congratulations to our President!

Phil Stearns, the President of Mission Trails Little League, was the recipient of two special awards at the recent District 33 dinner. Phil was awarded a District 33 Service Award, which is given to individuals nominated by their league that has several years of outstanding service to their league as well as having impacted the District by serving the other leagues in some capacity, usually by being involved in tournaments or something district wide.

 

Phil was also awarded the Scott Simmons Leadership Award. This award is for someone that has impacted the local league, especially in bringing about compliance to Little League rules and regulations, has set a standard in regards to choosing managers and coaches with character, has demonstrated a willingness to address issues such as poor sportsmanship either among spectators, coaches, managers or players. To demonstrate courage and character in dealing with issues at the local league level.

 We are very proud of the leadership Phil has provided to our league!
