FINANCES

Dear MBLL Families,

Our 2009 season was one of the most successful in recent memory as evidenced by the increased number of players and families actively involved, the smiles on the kids’ faces, and the appreciation shown to us by our fellow leagues for being such gracious tournament hosts. Unfortunately, late in the season our Board of Directors discovered a financial situation involving misuse of funds. We want you to know that we’re taking steps to validate and resolve this situation, including working with the appropriate legal authorities to recover the funds. We have also replaced the Treasurer, and we’re instituting more stringent financial controls.

Going forward, MBLL has sufficient funds to continue building on our recent successes. MBLL has deep roots in our community, and we are committed to providing a safe and rewarding experience for our children and families. We look forward to working with you to build an even more successful future.

Best Regards,

Chad Taylor

FAN / PARENT BEHAVIOR:  It's everyone's job to create a positive atmosphere for our kids.  As such, please be supportive of all kids and umpires (e.g., no heckling umpires and players).  Many fan issues tend to arise with the 'strike zone' being called by the umpire.  The strike zone in Little League can run between the knees and shoulders, and can be one or two baseball widths wider than the plate to encourage the kids to swing the bats.  As long as the umpire is calling the zone fairly / consistently for both teams, the kids need to make the adjustment to the zone being called.  Umpires are human too, so occasionally mistakes are made.

Reminder: no alcoholic bevarages or smoking allowed.
