Remember When They Played
Please direct all inquiries to Doug Farrell photgraher ann former Mustang parent e-mail address "Doug Farrell" web site www.RememberWhenTheyPlayed.com link will be on the Mustang web site Message from Doug The photo products available and prices can be seen by selecting any picture for the shopping cart. When you click to view the cart it will show you the product/price list. One of the issues I have seen with these type of sites is the shipping expense if you only want one or two pictures. For this reason I have made downloading of full resolution pictures available. You will notice that the product list shows "image download" many times. Parents need to know this. Thanks, Doug Map Quest Web site based mapping Welcome to the home of the North Quincy Apaches Established in 1950, The North Quincy Apaches is one of the original teams of the Quincy Youth Football League “QYFL”. Since that time, the Apaches have proudly represented the neighborhoods of Wollaston & North Quincy, MA and have had many successful seasons in the QYFL. The Apaches organization is proud of the thousands of former players and cheerleaders that have passed through our program and gone on to have outstanding careers not only playing at the high school and college levels but excelling in the classroom and rising up as leaders among their peers. It is our hope that all of our players and cheerleaders have learned values like character, sportsmanship, leadership and through team-work realized the rewards of hard-work and persistence. The goal of the Apaches coaches and volunteers each year is to develop young players & cheerleaders to be the best that they can be in their sport, to help them build confidence, form new friendships and most importantly provide a fun, and safe environment to learn the basics of the game. American football American football, Everything you ever wanted to know CONTENTS OF WEB SITE The ball used in American football has a pointed oval shape, and usually has a large set of stitches along one side. American football, known in the United States simply as football, is a competitive team sport. The object of the game is to carry the ball to the opposing team's end zone and score points. The team with more points when time has expired wins. Outside of the United States and Canada, the sport is referred to as 'American football' or sometimes 'Grid-iron' football to differentiate it from association football (soccer), a sport that it does not resemble. American football evolved as a separate sport from Rugby football in the early 20th century. Canadian football and arena football are basically forms of American football. The National Football Foundation currently has more than 10,000 members in 119 local chapters nationwide and recognizes the vital role amateur football plays in the development of our nation's youth and in the education process. The NFF seeks to honor those who have excelled both on and off the field and who demonstrate the Foundation's creed of scholarship, citizenship and athletic ability. Last year, the National Football Foundation and its chapters awarded nearly $1,000,000 in scholarships to deserving high school and college scholar-athletes. Pro Football Hall of Fame Why Canton for the Hall of Fame Site? The Pro Football Hall of Fame is located in Canton, Ohio, for three primary reasons; (1) the American Professional Football Association, later renamed the National Football League, was founded in Canton on September 17, 1920. (2) the Canton bulldogs were an early-day pro football power, even before the days of the NFL. They were also the first two-time champion of the NFL in 1922 and 1923. The great Jim Thorpe, the first big-name athlete to play pro football, played is first pro football with the Bulldogs, starting in 1915. (3) Canton citizens early in the 1960's launched a determined and well-organized campaign to earn the site designation for their city. National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS The mission of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) is to serve its members and its related professional groups by providing leadership and national coordination for the administration of interscholastic activities which will enhance the educational experiences of high school students and reduce risks of their participation. The NFHS will promote participation and sportsmanship to develop good citizens through interscholastic activities which provide equitable opportunities, positive recognition and learning experiences to students while maximizing the achievement of educational goals. Randy Edsall/UCONN football coaching clinic STORRS, Conn. (March 25, 2005) – Randy Edsall and the University of Connecticut football coaching staff are hosting their annual free high school coaching clinic this weekend in Storrs. Over 700 coaches from as far away as Maine, Maryland and Quebec have come to observe first hand how the Husky staff conducts practice and teaches fundamentals, an area stressed by the Husky staff as it has made its meteoric rise through the Division I-A ranks in its three short years competing at the nation's highest level. The group is attending UConn's spring workouts on Friday and Saturday with demonstrations at Gampel Pavilion, after each day's on-field practice session, where the UConn staff shows what they do to teach basic fundamentals of the game. Steve Slade offers the following views from Friday's half of the event. The Big New England Football Clinic THE BIG NEW ENGLAND FOOTBALL CLINIC has earned the reputation among football coaches at all levels – to be the most popular two day football coach’s clinic in the Northeast, and annually attracts over 1000 coaches. The clinic is also considered by past clinicians to be one of the very best and most informative clinics in the entire country. The clinic is also one of the most unique coaching clinics in the country, in that it is geared to meet the needs of both High School and College coaches, as well as those that coach on the Youth level. An entire section of the clinic is designed specifically for the Youth coaches. All sessions, however, are open to all in attendance. 33 Touchdown Football Club of Boston MA Since formally becoming a club six months ago, The “33” Touchdown Club, Inc. has gone from 6 members to approximately 50. This rapid growth was achieved strictly through word of mouth and was accomplished after only two meetings. We feel there is a real desire on the part of football people to be involved with an organization that gives back to the football community, and at the same time affords them the opportunity to socialize with old and new friends. In December, we recognized the first recipients of The “33” Touchdown Club Award. These men, Chet Stone and Darryl Williams, epitomize the type of individuals we want to honor. We are not necessarily looking to honor the high profile athlete or coach, but the person behind the scenes who has performed well under extraordinary circumstances. Our next goal is to raise enough money to help a football person in need. This could be scholarship help for a deserving scholar/football player who in order to further his education will need financial assistance. It could also be a football person in need of help after an extreme personal crisis. We want to help those who might “fall between the cracks”. |
