MCLL BASEBALL Fee Information 2009

The following Summary Information about Mill Creek Little League Baseball is provided to enable you to make informed decisions about the Spring 2009 season. We have tried to make this information as accurate as possible, but be advised that the information may change without notice. –The MCLL Board
T-BALL
  • 5-6 years old (co-ed)
  • Player's fee: $95
  • Players contacted by: Mid-March
  • Practices start: Early April
  • Pre-season commitment: 2 practices/wk
  • Season commitment: 2 games/wk; no practices
  • Season starts: Late April
  • 12-15 Game Schedule


  • What's T-Ball Like? Played with a soft core baseball, T-Ball is entry level for both baseball and softball. Emphasis is on instruction at its most basic level.

ROOKIES Baseball
  • 7-8 years old
  • Player's fee: $140
  • Players contacted by: Approximately March 10
  • Practices start: Mid-March
  • Pre-season commitment: 2 practices/wk from mid-March to mid-April
  • Season commitment: 2 games/wk; no practices
  • Season starts: Mid-April
  • 12-15 Game Schedule


  • What's Rookies Like? Coaches pitch. Emphasis is on learning to hit a pitched ball and make fundamental fielding plays.

FARM Baseball
  • 9-10 years old
  • Player's Fee: $155
  • Pre-season Commitment: 2 practices/wk from mid-March to mid-April
  • Season Commitment: 2 games/wk; 1 practice/wk
  • Season Starts: Mid-April (after Spring Break)
  • 15-18 Game Schedule


  • What's Farm Like? While more competitive than T-Ball or Rookie, the emphasis is still primarily on instruction as well as prepping for Minors/Majors. Farm is the youngest level at which players pitch to each other.

MINORS Baseball
  • 9-11 years old
  • Player's fee: $175
  • Players contacted by: Early February
  • Practices start: Early February
  • Pre-season commitment: 5-6 practices/wk from early February to early March
  • Season commitment: 2-3 games/wk; 2-3 practices/wk
  • Season starts: Early March
  • 22-24 Game Schedule


  • What's Minors Like? Minors is a significant jump from Rookies. Players must try out and be drafted. Play is competitive. The game schedule is increased from lower leagues, and concludes with an in-house tournament in early June.

MAJORS Baseball
  • 9-12 years old
  • Player's fee: $250
  • Players contacted by: Early February
  • Practices start: Early February
  • Pre-season commitment: 6 practices/wk from early February to early March
  • Season commitment: 3 games/wk; 3 practices/wk
  • Season starts: Early March
  • 28-30 Game Schedule


  • What's Majors Like? The Majors division is the most competitive level in the 9-12 age group, as well as the most expensive for parents! Players must try out and be drafted. Draft Day is scheduled for end of January. Drafted players will be notified by telephone before 10pm on draft day if possible. Following the estimated 30-game schedule, teams participate in an in-house tournament followed by an interleague post-season tournament within District 1, expanding the total games played to 40 games or more. As for expenses, some teams order jackets, sweatshirts, socks, and other equipment at additional cost to the parents.

JUNIORS Baseball
  • 13-14 years old
  • Player's fee: $225
  • Players contacted by: Early March
  • Practices start: Early March
  • Pre-season commitment: 6 practices/wk from Early March to late March
  • Season commitment: 3 games/wk; 1 practice/wk
  • Season starts: Late March
  • 22-24 Game schedule


  • What's Juniors Like? In the Juniors division, the basepaths get longer (90') and the fences are farther (@300 ft). Players must try out and be drafted. "Big barrel" bats and metal spikes are used, and the rules allow for advanced plays, such as leading off base and hit-and-run. Travel is extended as well. While the majority of games are played in Mill Creek, some games may be played against non-MCLL teams in other local towns.

SENIORS Baseball
  • 15-16 years old
  • Player's fee: $225
  • Players contacted by: Early March
  • Practices start: Early March
  • Pre-season commitment: 6 practices/wk from Early March to late March
  • Season commitment: 3 games/wk; 1 practice/wk
  • Season starts: Late March
  • 22-24 Game Schedule


  • What's Seniors Like? Seniors are a level up from Juniors, but they play by the same rules. Players must try out and be drafted. Travel gets more extensive, with teams playing about half their games in local towns outside of Mill Creek.

BIG LEAGUE Baseball
  • 17-18 years old
  • Player's fee: $225
  • Pre-season commitment: 6 practices/wk from late February to late March
  • Season commitment: 3 games/wk; 1 practice/wk
  • Season starts: Late March
  • 22-24 Game Schedule


  • What's Big League Like? Big League is a level up from Seniors. Rules are the same. Players do not try out, but are placed on teams following registration.
