Fall Ball Information

Mill Creek Little League - Fall Ball

Fall Ball is a great way to hone your skills, learn new positions, and play with friends. It is a fun way to play baseball without the pressure of regular season commitment and performance.  Grab a buddy and let’s play ball…

Who is eligible to play Fall Ball?

Mill Creek Little League has two divisions (Majors and Juniors) for our 2009 Fall Baseball season.  Our Majors division is for players league age 8 through league age 11 and our Juniors division is for players league age 12 and 13.  All league ages are for the current calendar year (the same league age they played Spring 2009 season as).  Team’s are put together by buddy/coach request and evenly distributed by age in an effort to keep the average team age as similar as possible. Historically MCLL has fielded 4 Majors teams and 1 Juniors team. We are expecting to grow by 1 team per division.  Registration is on a first come first serve basis so you will want to register early if you want to play.

What is the charter for Fall Ball?

Mill Creek Little League’s Fall Ball Program falls under the Little League TAD Program (Training and Development) which allows the local leagues considerable leeway in the rules that they adopt for their fall leagues. This is done in an effort to better facilitate the training and development of players in a less competitive atmosphere than the regular season rules provide.

What are the player/parent expectations for Fall Ball?

MCLL’s Fall Ball season usually starts the first week of September right after the Labor Day Holiday.  We play a 15 – 20 game season (depending on how many teams District 1 has).  We play 1 or 2 games during the week with 1 game played on Saturday.  Practices are optional and usually scheduled 2 weeks prior to the season starting (no practice once games start).  We know kids have other commitments and will miss some games, to plan for this we try to sign 13 - 15 kids on a roster.  We play other teams in District 1 so there is some travel to other locations through out the District 1 boundaries.

What are the costs for Fall Ball?

The cost is $75.00 per player.  Uniforms (Jersey and Hat) are provided. Jersey needs to be returned to the league after the season, hats are kept by the player.

Who can Manage/Coach a team?

Managers need to send a letter of interest accompanied with an application to the Fall Ball Director no later than August 1, 2009. Managers and Coaches will be picked and approved by the Fall Ball Director, the Vice President of Baseball, and the President of Mill Creek Little League.
