BOYS BASEBALL 2012

11-12 American League

Playoffs in the 11-12 American League began on 6/6 as the #2 seed Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated #3 seed Miami Hurricanes 4-1. Chris Urban pitched a complete game for the Huskers striking out 15 batters.

As Playoffs continued on 6/11, the #1 seed LSU Tigers defeated the #4 seed UCLA Bruins 6-3 in Game 1 of the Series. Lane LeBlanc crushed a solo HR onto the concession stand in right field in the game.

In the second game of the night, the Nebraska Cornhuskers advance to the Championship Series after a 9-4 victory over Miami.

The LSU Tigers advanced to the Championship Series on Tuesday night with a 5-3 victory over UCLA.

The Best-of-3 Championship Series opened up with 2 well played baseball games. Nebraska took Game 1 by a score of 3-2 in 7 innings as Chris Urban pitched a complete game striking out 17 batters for the Huskers. Ethan Baquedano pitched 7 strong innings for the Tigers in the loss.

Game 2 saw the LSU Tigers emerge with a 3-0 victory behind a complete game by Bradley Jackson on the mound. Nathan Gurganus pitched 6 good innings for the Huskers in the loss.

In Game 3 of the Series, the LSU Tigers took a 7-0 lead after 4 innings behind the pitching of Matthew Sauviac, but the Cornhuskers rallied with 6 runs in the last 2 innings and had the tying run at 3rd base as Ben Finicle struck out the side in the 6th.

The LSU Tigers are the 2012 Miley 11-12 American League Champions.
