Welcome to Mercer Island Girls Lacrosse
The Mercer Island Girls Lacrosse program serves Mercer Island's lacrosse community by providing an opportunity for girls in grades 1-12 to play lacrosse in an environment that promotes sportsmanship, lacrosse skills, personal growth and the camaraderie that team athletics provide.
Please check the various team pages for updated info. Play on!
Mercer Island has a well established girls lacrosse program offering opportunities for girls starting in first grade through high school. Our high school program is comprised of three teams: Divsion I, Division II, and JV. In the 2010 season we had over 60 girls participate in our high school program. An active parent volunteer board provide support to coaches for all administrative duties including scheduling, registration, game volunteers, fundraising, social events, etc.
Division I Head Coach
We are looking for a DI Head Coach with experience as a player at the college level and as a coach. The DI coach oversees the entire high school program and provides a liaison to the board, the league, and the Mercer Island High School athletic department.
Practices are held in the evening (usually after 7:00 pm with some coach discretion) Monday-Friday from March to mid-May.
Division II Coach
The DII team has proven to be a strong contender in the league for many years, including a 2009 State Championship title. DII coach candidates should have experience as at least a high school player and as a coach.
Monday-Friday practice times can be after school or in the evening, depending on coach preference and in coordination with other field users at the high school.
JV Coach
The JV team is developmental in nature and designed to give players an opportunity to refine their skills while experiencing the more competitive nature of high school lacrosse. JV coach candidates should have both knowledge of basic lacrosse skills and coaching experience.
JV practices are held Monday-Friday after school (starting at 3:30 or 4:00 depending on coach preference) at MIHS.
Interested Candidates should contact John Tomlinson (MIWLB President) at jrt@bmatlaw.com or 206-621-1871.

The Relentless Runners are a group of middle school girls who play and love lacrosse. In order to keep themselves fit and ready for the next season, they meet weekly for group runs around Pioneer Park. Please consider joining them if you love lacrosse and love to be with your friends who have the same goals. The first 5K they participated in was the Alki Beach Run on August 29th. Participants included (pictured left to right) Keely Hobson, Samantha Shin, Shelby Brodman, Rachel Orehek and Julie Baker. Great job girls!
Our next goal is the Issaquah Run at Salmon Days on October 3rd. To register, go to the following link and find the team page for Relentless Runners/MI Girls Lacrosse http://www.issaquahrun.com/
