The Midway Pantherettes fought hard but came up short as the #1 ranked team in the Nation Aledo Ladycats shut out the Midway Pantherettes (6-0) in the State Tournament Friday in Austin. The season ending on a sour note for the Pantherettes however, Midway had a remarkable season with such a young class with 2 seniors on the roster. The Pantherettes fought hard getting to State after dropping the first game in each of the three, 2 out of 3 series but ultimately came together as a team to reach the UIL State Tournament. An incredible team accomplishment being one of only four that reached the 4A state tournament that started out with (96) 4-A Region 1,2,3 & 4 teams fighting for a chance to reach Austin.Great Job Pantherettes on a terrific 2008 season!
Please stay tuned as the 2009 Pantherettes will return ten varsity pantherettes and will enter a newly aligned 2009 16-4A district that includes Waco ,University ,Waxahachie ,Cleburne, Ennis, Corsicana ,Midlothian.

#2-Midway -vs- #3-McKinney, Regional II Finals.
The #2 ranked Midway Pantherettes is set to face #3 ranked McKinney North in the Regional II Finals. First game & pitch is set for this Friday @ 7:30 in McKinney North. Game 2 & 3 is scheduled for Baylor's Getterman Stadium Saturday with game 1 set for 5:00 and game 3 if neccessary 30 min following game 2. Please show your support for the #2-Midway Pantherettes and fill the stands Saturday at Baylor as they hope to advance to the State tournament beginning next Friday, May 30th.
Directions:
Go north on 75 through McKinney. On the northside of McKinney take the Wilmeth exit. You will have to take a right off of the access road to get to Wilmeth. Take a left on Wilmeth and go past the first light (The school is now on your right) and turn into the last entrance to the parking lot. Park back by the football field. The softball field is behind the opposite end of the football field.

Midway Pantherettes complete double-dip of Hallsville to advance to Regional Final!
The Midway Pantherettes complete the double-dip of the Hallsville Lady Cats (5-3 & 10-3) at Forney High School to advance to the Regional II Final with a match-up against McKinney North. Game Details TBA.

Midway-Midlothian Series
The Pantherettes beat Midlothian (5-3 & 4-0) Friday night at Getterman Stadium to advance to the Regional Semi-Finals. The Midway Pantherettes will now play the Hallsville Lady Cats who advanced by beating Forney (1-0, 4-5 & 5-0). Time & Location yet to be determined.
