Fall Ball is underway. We have a record turnout and have 3 teams in both the 8-11 division and the 12-16 division.
At the Midway Awards Banquet on September 26, Matthew Buckery was named winner of the Tirrell Trophy (for 12yo) and Adam Crowe was the winner of the Conaway Trophy (for 16yo). Jackie Berta won the President's Award for outstanding volunteer service. Jack Edmiston and Chris Allen received Appreciation Awards for their volunteer service.

Postseason is over for Midway. Senior All-Stars(3-2) finished 4th. Midway teams finish with a 10-16 record. The Eights(3-2) came in second place, losing to Canal in the finals. Canal won the District II 9yo tournament, hosted by Midway, beating Naamans in the championship game, 7-4. Thanks to the dozens of parents, players, and other volunteers who made it all possible. For scores and highlights, see My Site News. For brackets, see Handouts.
Miracles happen!! The sixth-seeded Indians, winner of only one game during the entire regular season, have upset the top 3 teams to win the Minor playoffs. They beat the regular season champ Cardinals in the title game, 10-7. Congratulations to both teams for a great season, but especially to the Indians, a story that will not soon be forgotten.
In the Major playoffs, the Orioles upset the regular season champion Braves in the championship, 11-2.
Midway alum, Mark Eaton of the Pittsburgh Penguins, has won the Stanley Cup!!! Congratulations Mark!! His nephew, Jake Martin, is on the Midway Senior All-Stars.
The Braves have won their second consecutive regular season Major championship with a 15-2 record. The Cardinals won the Minor regular season title, edging out the Mets and the Pirates.
Many Midway alumni have starred on college and high school diamonds this year. Richard O'Donald and Matt Harden at UD, Brandon Crist at DelState, Billy Crowe at Wesley, and Brandon Scott and Evan Zechman at Wilmington Univ. In high school, James Wilson led St. Mark's to the state championship and was named 3rd team All-State 3B.
Midway Little League provides a baseball and T-Ball program for boys and girls ages 5-16. It has about 260 players playing 6 divisions. It features one of the finest baseball complexes in Northern Delaware with 5 fields behind Forest Oak Elementary School and the Western Family YMCA.
