Monterey Peninsula Wrestling Club
The club is chartered by USA Wrestling in affiliation with the California USA Wrestling. It is a memeber of the Santa Clara Valley Wrestling Association which is the governing body for this region.
Central Coast Section Wrestling

California Interscholastic Federation Wrestling
In 1972, three individuals, Jim Root (Westmont), Webber Lawson (Fremont of Sunnyvale), and Lynn Dyche (Oak Grove), met in Los Angeles with the executive committee of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). We convinced this group that we should have a true state championship in wrestling. Needless to say, the three of us were ecstatic on our return trip home and anxiously looking forward to the first state wrestling meet in 1973.
