LEAGUE HISTORY:
Millbrook Girls Softball League will enter into it's eigth season of fastpitch softball. In 1999, our first season in Dixie Softball there where about 179 girls in our league. In 2004 a switch was made and we left Dixie Softball and we participated in the National Softball Association. We had 301 girls to play this past season.

We have a team for every girl wishing to play. The 6& under consist of young ladies between the ages of 4 and 6 years of age. We allow girls under the age of 5 the opportunity to hit the ball thrown by the coach or after 3 pitches they will be afforded the opportunity to hit off the tee.

In our 8 & under division we play both coach & player pitch. We have 3 innings of coach pitch followed by 2 innings of player pitch. Players pitch an 11 inch ball from the distance of 30 feet.

In our 10 & under division, stealing of bases begin. A player can steal only one base at a time allowing the development of our catchers in this age division. All team must play at least 3 defensive innings and all players must bat theri turn. Pitchers pitch an 11 inch ball at a distance of 35 feet.

In our 12,14,16 and 18& unders leagues it is no holds barred. We play the same style of ball that our area high schools play with the exception of a time limit of 75 minutes or 7 innings.

We have a fall league. It consist of a 12 game minimum at a cost of $40.00 per player. The season runs form early September to late November. We play two games a week one game during the week and one game on Saturday mornings. We had 159 girls sign-up this past season and more than that played.
