Metter/Candler Recreation Department: About Us

     The Metter-Candler County Recreation Department was established May 14, 1956, and is governed by a board of five directors, three appointed by the Mayor and City Council and two appointed by the Chariman and County Commissioners.

     The Metter-Candler Recreation Department consists of the following facilities for your enjoyment:

7 Softball/Baseball Playing Fields

Covered Bleachers on all fields

2 Concession Stands

2 Batting Cages

Half Mile Walking Nature Trail

Two Playground Areas

Strickland Building Community Center available for rent

The Birthday House available for rent

4 Lighted Tennis Courts
