Our first meeting will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Brennan's Restaurant and Bowery Bar on Transit Rd in Williamsville, NY 14221
The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm
All teams planning to play in the Metro Girls Softball League must have a representative in attendance. Topics of interest will include which teams are entering teams in each age division, deadlines for team entry payment and amount of payment for each age division. Other topics will be covered as they are presented.
A reminder to all teams that insurance coverage for the 2010 season must be in conformance with the liability limits and medical coverage established at our September 30 meeting and published on this website. See the insurance notice on this page for details. Those teams not in conformance will be required to pay $75 for this coverage before they can begin play in Metro Girls Softball for the 2010 season. 50 teams have already requested this coverage which will be in effect as of January 1, 2010.

The NSA insurance certificate for Metro Girls 2010 season play has been mailed to all teams that purchased insurance through the league. If your team requested insurance and did not receive the email with the attachment, please contact us. We can forward the certificate to you. Or, you can download it here.

REMINDER - INSURANCE PAYMENT IS DUE
Thank you to the 45 teams that sumitted their insurance payment. NSA sanction is underway and we should have the insurance in place in a few days to meet the 2009 year end deadline.
For those few stragglers, or new teams considering joining us in 2010, Metro Girls Softball is offering team insurance for the 2010 season. This insurance will be effective January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010. The cost will be $75 per team and will include NSA team registration. Teams planning to play in Metro Girls Softball in 2010 will be need to be insured in accordance with the policy limits defined in this 2010 insurance plan. The coverages are as follows:
$3,000,000 General liability (each occurence)
$ 1,000,000 Personal Injury (each occurence)
$5,000 medical expense (any one person)
$4,000,000 general aggregate
$100,000 Excess Accident Medical ($100 deductible)
If your team needs insurance, Metro Girls will make that purchase for your team in aggregate with all teams submitting payment of $75 by December 15, 2010. Those submitting payment after December 19 will be covered as soon as we can complete the sanction process and insure the teams. In those few cases we may not have coverage for your team by January 1, 2010.
Payments must be received at Metro Girls Softball, 45 Curley Drive, Orchard Park, NY 14127 Checks should clearly state which team is being insured (ie: "Ballerina's 14U (anytown, NY)") & coaches name and address must be included.
Checks should be endorsed to: Metro Girls Softball with a notation on the check of "2010 Softball Insurance"

All Metro Coaches - 2009 teams
Your umpire escrow deposits (refunds) for the 2009 season have been mailed, or were given to team representatives at the Sept. 30 meeting. If your team was fined for a cancelled game, or two, you will receive a partial refund. In a few cases teams will not receive any refund due to multiple cancellations. Those should not be a surprise to the few teams involved in multiple cancelled games.
Checks were endorsed to the person, or organization that submitted payment and if mailed those checks were mailed to the person, or organization's address that was on the check used for payment of 2009 league fees.
This concludes the financial transactions for the 2009 season.

Our Sept. 30 Meeting at the University Ramada Inn was a great success with over 75 softball coaches in attendance. Topics of discussion included a roll call vote to increase the Out of Area Players (OAP's) in each age division, the formation of a committee to study possible team boundary expansion, exhibition teams' playoffs and miscellaneous other ideas.
Umpire escrow refund checks were distributed to some of the teams in attendance. The remaining checks will be mailed this week to the organizations that submitted those deposits. Make sure your treasurers check their mailbox over the next week. For questions regarding these refunds, please contact us.
2010 Team Insurance requirements were distributed via a copy of the 2009 policy showing the amount and types of coverages required for teams to play in the Metro Girls Softball League next season. Insurance will be purchased in December, 2009 to cover teams for all of 2010. Teams will not be permitted to participate in 2010 without that coverage.
