2009 Season

3.) Please make sure if all girls show up or making substitutions that all girls have to play 2 innings and bat once.

First round Midget playoff games on Monday, June 22 had #8 seed Cumberland Valley 1 playing #9 seed Swatara/Paxtang, #5 Linglestown hosting #12 Red Land, #6 Big Spring hosting #11 East Pennsboro, and #7 Cumberland Valley 2 hosting #10 Hummelstown.

Monday's games were won by Cumberland Valley 1, Hummelstown, Big Spring, and Red Land, who were hosted in second round games on Tuesday, June 23 respectively by the #1 through #4 seeds: East Hanover, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Valley 3, and Susquehanna Twp.

The semi-final games on Wednesday, June 24 pitted the winners of Tueday's games; #4 seed Susquehanna visiting #1 East Hanover, and #3 Cumberland Valley 3 visiting #2 seed Mechanicsburg.   East Hanover then defeated Mechanicsburg 6-1 and 8-3 on Thursday, June 25 and Monday, June 29 to capture the 2009 MEGSL Midget championship.

The Teener division playoffs began on Monday, June 29 wtih #1 West Hanover hosting Linglestown, #2 Carlisle 1 hosting Cumberland Valley, #3 Big Spring hosting East Hanover, and #4 Hummelstown hosting Susquehanna. 

Second round games started on Tuesday, June 30 with Susquehanna surviving a tough West Hanover team by a 2-1 score.  Carlisle defeated Big Spring in the other semi-final game by a 2-0 score in another hard-fought game on Wednesday July 1 after a 1 day rain delay.

Round 1 of the best of three championship series went to Carlisle 9-8 over Susquehanna on Monday, July 6 at Carlisle's Goodyear Park.  Carlisle then completed the sweep with an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday, July 7 at Susquehanna's Stabler Park.  Congratulations to Carlisle 1 - the 2009 Metro East Girls Softball League Teener division champions.
