Burn 'em Heat !!!
Welcome to the Fall 2006 season of the Mesquite Heat Soccer Club. We had a great season last spring and we're looking to follow through with another great one this fall. We have a couple of players sit out until next spring but we've got great additions to our team. We would like to welcome Austin Roebuck, Tre' Taylor and Erik Macias to Mesquite Heat and we're going to have fun kicking the ball around. Also a welcome back to all the returnees, we'll just keep doing what we do best: play soccer and have fun. We will be posting team news, events, pictures, scores and highlights throughout the season, please visit us often and if you have any suggestion or if you would like to help with site maintenance please email me. Thanks for visiting and don't forget to sign the guestbook.

Heat Lost a Close One: 2-3

The Heat came close to winning their first game of the season today giving it all they've got without substitutions again. With one of our star player, Jerrod, out for the remainder of the regular season with surgery to injuries sustained the past week, and our star goalkeeper, Frankie, out with a fever, the Heat had to rely on its best defender, Kalir, to guard the goals. Stepping it up a notch was Tre' who scored both Heat goals to give the Heat the Lead early in the second half 2-1. But after Erik hurt his knees, Austin his stomach and Reed his eyes, the Heat surrendered 2 goals late in the half to loose the game 2-3. The Heat showed what they made of and continue to improve every game. Good going Heat. Bravoooooooo!

Heat opens the season with back to back losses!!

The Heat opens the fall 2004 season with two dissapointing losses. On Saturday it was the Terminators that got better of the Heat scoring 8 goals. "We've made a lot of mistakes in front of our goals that cost us a couple of scores" said Kalir(defense). The Heat players got tired really fast and was still in the game until 15mns into the second half when the Terminators scored their 5th goals to make it at 5-2 contest, the Heat never recovered.
Sunday's match versus the Hurricanes was a different story where the Heat showed more energy, made less mistake. Though we still lost the game by a score of 5-1 on a penalty kick by Erik Macias(forward) but we've picked up some confidence and some hope that we are getting better every game.
We will have some tough practices this week to get ready for the Chargers next Sunday.
Let's go Heat!! Let's win and have some fun!!

Heat starts cold 0-3

The Mesquite Heat suffered their 3rd loss to the Chargers 5-3. Early scored upon, the Heat showed resiliency and strenght playing without substitutions. At the end there was not enough time to mount a great comeback when Erik (Forward #20 ) scored 3 goals in the last 2 minutes. That helps the Heat recaptured their confidence as a young team. "we know we can score" said Erik whose hat trick was capped by a shirt off exhibition. It's not going to go unnoticed the job well done by our new goalkeeper Frankie #3. He's been a life saver for the Heat and he's key to the Heat's hopefull success. We will go back to the practice field and do what we have to do to start winning some games. Let's do it Heat!!
