Oh my goodness, you all - you will love this!

Go Fish just posted their MOM song to YouTube. You will want to watch this with your kids - and download to play in your laundry room or when you need a little more oomph:

• Get every parent involved with your team. You will need help with score keeping, field preparation, snacks, concession stand duty, dugout duties, game announcing, etc.


• Get every parent's phone numbers (home and work), pager, cell phone, and home address in case you need to get in quick contact regarding a game or practice scheduling change. At all age divisions, a parent should either stay at practices or games or let you know where they can be reached in case of sudden rain, injury, etc.
  
• As soon as the MILL schedule is available, please distribute to your parents and let them know their assigned duty times.




• For the Majors and Minor 1, set up a schedule for someone to keep the score book, pitch count, and someone to run the scoreboard/announce the game for home games.


• Set up a schedule for workers in the concession stand during your team's scheduled home games.


• Set up a schedule for parents to provide snacks after the games.




• Here are the game volunteer scheduling guidelines:




• Concessions - 2 home team parents


• Field Prep - 2 home team parents if needed


• Scorekeeper (Minor 1 and Majors) - 1 home team parent


• Pitch Counter (Minor 1 and Majors) - 1 home team parent


• Announcer - 1 home team parent to announce the game


• Scoreboard - 1 home team parent to run the scoreboard


• Snacks - 1 parent for each game if needed




• Have a parent's meeting to distribute copies of the team roster and schedules of practices, games, and upcoming events.


• Distribute the uniforms to the players.


• Gather information on each child's medical condition or special needs or keep track of the medical forms from registration.


• Encourage acceptable dugout behavior.


• Assist with Opening Day - scheduling parentsfor duty and getting the team ready for the pictures and the ceremony.


• Distribute and fundraising information and/or collect the money. This will happen sometime mid-season.


• Check with each team member about any problems with transportation for the games or practices. Remind parents to inform you and the manager about any schedule problems with games and practices. Please make sure a parent has picked up every player before leaving all games and practices.


• Work with parents on organizing an end of season party (if desired) and/or Coach's gift.


• Other activities that might need to be coordinated and scheduled.
