MVLL McDonalds NIGHT on Fisherville Road, 5-21-08
Please come to our "NIGHT" at our local McDonalds to support our league. As usual, they will donate part of the profits from the night in exchange for some of our parents to volunteer in the dining area to keep it clean and tidy. We are adding some auction items this year as well, lots of very helpful stuff. Come between 5-7pm on Wed, 5-21. Come by and see some friends and neighbors.

Opening Day a lot of Fun
MVLL holds another fun and exciting opening day parade in 2008. Despite the drippy weather conditions, many, many players came out along with family and friends to parade from Church Fields to Welch Field in Boscawen. See this picture of President Bill Lambert holding back the excited Tball players. Down at the field we even had a live performance of the national anthem by a young member of our community, Miss Roesener. That added a great deal of enjoyment to the event. We are also selling Fisher Cat tickets this year for the July 7th game, but the tickets can be exchanged for a different game if you like. Contact Bill Lambert, 753-9474

MVLL looking toward record growth in Player turnout
Our league has been steadily growing over the last 5 years and with the advent of softball and baseball being added to the Middle School Athletics, more kids are interested in playing. We topped out at 450 players last year. We are in the finishing stages of a new field at Boscawen Elementary. We need some fencing and benches. If you would like to be a part of finishing this project please contact Bill Lambert, President. See website for contact information.
This year has also seen a big change in our Board. We have in the last two years had many long time and experienced Board members retire. The Board is in need for some new members to step in and join in the fun and satisfaction in providing a tremendous spring time activity to the kids and families of Merrimack Valley. What would the fields be like without baseball and softball, I shudder to think of the silence that might befall our playgrounds and schools.

4th annual Baseball Instruction Clinic for youth
This is the 4th year that Mr. Sean Wheeler, varsity coach, will be hosting a baseball skills clinic for area youth baseball players, boys and girls. It will cover all the fundamentals in the game in a low-stress and fun atmosphere. The kids will work with the current Varsity team plus Mr. Wheeler and his staff. He keeps the fee at a reasonable $30.00 and the total numbers low for lots of attention by the coaches and players. It is timed just before our Little League Tryouts on the 29th, it will be a good warmup and get the kids excited about playing in a few weeks. It will be Saturday March 22nd, 10:30am to 1pm. Coaches Clinic-How to teach the Catcher position
Please see the Handout in the General Information MVLL section, it is an image file(.jpg) of a flyer for the Clinic being held in early March at the Concord Sports Center near Exit 17, I-93. Check out their website for many activities, camps, clinics, and other sports instruction. Cost is only $10.
