Meridians start using Mad Dog Bats in the 2008 season with great success.   Their "maple-like" density and durability prove these bamboos to be "good wood".

New York Maple Bats

*OFFICIALLY FROM SHIRLEY (below) IN JULY '08, NEW YORK MAPLE IS STILL SELLING BILLETS, BUT THERE ARE NO PLANS TO RETURN TO BAT PRODUCTION*

New York Maple Bats in Forestville, NY (Chautauqua County) lost one of their production facilities in a fire on July 26th, 2007.   No more bat production will occur in 2007 and the future is unclear beyond that as details are still coming in.   Manager and Coach, Mike Soto, swears by these sugar maples.

"NOTICE:   A fire recently destroyed the building that houses our finishing operations.   Due to this fire we will not be taking orders but in the near future will let all of our customers know our plans."

NYM was not an official sponsor, but Shirley in particular (below) got us our start into customized maple bats when we went to an all-wood bat league in 2004.

New York Maple Bats was co-owned and operated by Ben and Shirley Aaron (now divorced) in Forestville, New York.   Bats were produced in the heart of hard maple country within the company, which combined both sawmill and woodworking production.
