Cincinnati Yankees
Cincinnati Roy Hobbs team where Mike Soto plays infield and catches on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings (2004~). Led the Yankees in hits in 2008. "Mike Soto made a mockery of league pitching in the last month of the (2005) season, getting hits in 28 of his last 36 at bats to raise his batting average to a league leading .571 (included a 16 for 16 stretch). Mike collected 44 hits ... and led the Yankees in RBI's with 37."
(Note: neither Mike nor even most of the Cincinnati Yankees are actually NY Yankee fans...)
K.C. Fread debuted with the Yankees in '07 getting 4 hits in his 1st game and a 2-run home run next time out. Jared Cutter also debuted with the Yankees in '07 taking a perfect game into the 8th inning on 8/12/07. Cutter worked the hill in '08 more than he has since college and finished with a 1.93 ERA while becoming a staple in the middle of the order as well. Matt Raih made his baseball return with the Yankees in '08 after disappearing from the Meridians 5 years ago (he then disappeared again in 2009...). Jim Rack joined the Yankees after the '06 Meridians CRC season, but is now "retired" in California.

Murfreesboro Mudcats go 3-0 from Friday morning on to the win the AA Roy Hobbs World Series Championship (10/21 - 10/27) in Ft Myers, FL!! Down 2-3, we scored 3 in the top of the 9th inning and then held on in the botton half to win the championship game! (10/27/07) Mike Soto earns the team's 2007 World Series MVP as he led the Mudcats in RBIs with 11 (2 in the championship game) and average hitting an even .500 (15 for 30).
The Murfreesboro Mudcats win the Music City Baseball Association league tournament! (8/12/07) Going in as the #1 seed, the Mudcats didn't have to play Friday night. Saturday morning brought Game 1 and a 5-1 victory over the #3 seed. The #2 seed though brought their best game to us in the afternoon heat and beat us soundly. The Mudcats rallied back by breezing through the Sunday afternoon elimination game 11-1 to meet the #2 seed again Sunday night for the championship. We easily avenged Saturday's loss invoking the 12-run rule in the 6th inning (18-6) to take the title. Mike Soto went 5 for 7 on "championship Sunday" with 6 RBI, 3B, BB. Soto led the Mudcats in RBI's (as well as triples with 3) for the 2007 season (28 RBI in 14 games) despite missing 4 games while traveling with the Columbia Curve (below).
