The Memphis Blues Midget U-16 competed in the regional Silver Sticks tournament in Huntsville Al. November 8-9. The Blues finished second in the tournament losing 3-2 in the final to Duluth Thrashers.The team earned its way into the finals beating Huntsville 5-4 in a dramatic comeback. Memphis trailed 3-0 after one period and tied up the game 4-4 late in the third period. The Memphis winning goal came with 16 seconds left off a face off. That victory propelled the Blues into the finals and a spot in the Silver Sticks tournament in Pelham Ontario January 8-11, 2009.
