MYHL Scholarships
|
MYHL scholarships may be available for members of MYHL Travel and In-house teams. MYHL scholarships are not designed for long-term or continued financial support. Generally, these are one-time, partial scholarship awards intended for members facing a temporary financial hardship or a compelling current event that resulted in the need for scholarship consideration. All awards will be applied directly to the member’s MYHL dues and are not redeemable for cash. All award decisions are the discretion of the MYHL Executive Board and are only awarded when funds are available.
Process
The player must first be registered with MYHL. The scholarship application form must be completed and include all the information requested on both forms. The application will be submitted to the President of MYHL. All applications will be reviewed and voted on by the Board of Directors. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible upon the final decision.
Criteria
1. Preference for Scholarships will focus on facilitating access for players and families of players to be able to play hockey in a single division
2. Number of years involved with MYHL
3. Number of players from MYHL registered
4. Past and current MYHL Volunteer Activity
5. Description of your current situation for the need of the scholarship.
6. MYHL Board of Directors will have full and final authority to award scholarships.
Volunteer/Service Activity
MYHL is a club run by volunteers. As such, you as a scholarship applicant or recipient may be asked to perform some type of volunteer service to your club. We also have several fundraising program you can actively take part in to decrease your expenses throughout the season.
Confidentiality
All application information will be held in strict confidence by the MYHL Board of Directors.

MYHL League Fees Next Installment Due Nov 30
This is a reminder that the next installment payment against MYHL league fee balances is due November 30th. While participants can choose to pay the entire outstanding balance at any time between now and December 30, at least a minimum payment equal to one-third (33%) of the remaining balance is due at this time. MYHL has the right to deny the use of ice to any account member that is not current. We have allowed installment payments as a way to help our participants pay for league fees over, so please make timely payments.
All payments can be made via the online application using the link below (also found on the MYHL website under Registration and Payment tab):
https://thriva.activenetwork.com/MyAccount/Login.aspx?Org=MemphisYHockeyAssoc
If you need instructions, please see the attachment. The instructions will also be found on the website.
Any issues or questions with your account or making payments, contact our league Registrar, Jeff Hoff, at
jhoff99@comcast.net
A few notes regarding credits and balances:
This season we have kept registration open longer than normal in an attempt to have as many people join the league as possible. In addition, as many are aware, we have had turnover with the Treasurer position. As a result, we were not able to produce account statements as we intended.
Rather, we have applied all credits directly into the Thriva application against account balances. This includes all Kroger Bucks and Dippin Dots credits, through activity with end date of Oct 6, which also contributed to the slight delay in this notification reminder.
Regarding Dippin' Dots: Activity prior to the Sesame Street event was credited, but inadvertantly logged under and with the Kroger Buck credits. We apologize for any confusion. The credits for the Sesame Street event should be logged correctly.
As per the MYHL Financial policy, also attached, please note and remember that the cutoff for Kroger Buck and Dippin Dots activity to be applied to this year's league fees is through the end of November, to be applied before the final league fee installment payment due December 30.
Any questions on credits should be directed to our Treasurer, Paul Whitehead, at myhltreasurer@gmail.com.
Thanks again for participating in MYHL this season. See you on the ice!
Kerry Frankland, MYHL President

2009-2010 Registration & Fee Schedule
- All registrations for the 2009-10 hockey season will be done via the
online registration application. Payment methods to complete the transaction include credit card or secure e-check. Registration is a two-step process. The first step is to register with USA Hockey for the 2009-2010 season (your '08-09 USA Hockey registration number can NOT be used), and the second step is to register with MYHL. If you have already registered with USA Hockey, then proceed to step #3.
- If you have already registered with USA Hockey for the 09-10 season skip this step. If you haven't already registered for the upcoming season with USA HOCKEY go to www.usahockey.com. Select the “Online Member Registration” link in the upper right corner, then the link for “Ice Players and Coaches”. Click here for direct link to USA Hockey registration. Be sure to register for the 2009-2010 season under Ice players and coaches. The fee for this transaction is $35.00. (Note: USAHockey does not charge a fee for participants 6 years old and younger). Print a copy of the registration or record the USA Hockey registration number as you will need it to register online with MYHL (It is no longer necessary to send this number to the registrar).
- Once you have your USA Hockey registration for 2009-2010, register the player for each division or session they plan to participate in. This is different from last year when there was a single registration fee.
- Follow the instructions to register your player. Notes
- You must complete all mandatory fields denoted with a red*
Enter the player’s USA Hockey Registration number on the appropriate line.
- You must agree to the MYHL Code of Conduct Policy. Please read the online text.
- Active offers customer support for the on-line registration. The toll free number is 877-228-4881 and is available M-F 8-5 PST.
- If you feel you have made an entry error that needs to be corrected, contact the registrar at jhoff99@comcast.net
- The registrar will send an email to confirm that the player is registered with both USA Hockey and MYHL. Please allow about one week for this message. KF: We need to remove this. The system will send a confirmation. People can view their accounts on line if they have questions.
