The Memphis Tigers came out swinging on Wednesday in their third and final pool game versus the Batavia Bulldogs from Batavia, IL in the NABF World Series tournament in Southaven by a score of 16-0.
Memphis' Cooper Williams was the winning pitcher by throwing 4 innings of 1-hit baseball to shut down the Bulldogs. Williams amazingly threw only 40 pitches allowing only one baserunner to record the Tigers third straight one hitter in this tournament. Williams also finished with 2 strikeouts and no walks.
The Tigers were lead at the plate by all starters finishing with at least one hit each in accumulating 17 hits in the run rule shortened affair.. The big blows came early from Matt Bolton's lead off double and two batters later Scott Craddick's triple that plated a run to propel the Tigers to a 3-0 first inning lead.
Salem Smith went 3-3 at the plate followed by Matt Bolton's, Michael Halley's, Scott Craddick's and Brandon Wilhelm's 2 hits apiece to aid the Tiger cause. Halley's also recorded the Tigers first inside the park homer of the year as the Tigers finished the Bulldogs off early.
