Tigers Arrive in Orlando for Elite 32 

The Memphis Tigers arrived in Orlando, Fl to test their team against the best in the nation at the 14-U USSSA Elite 32 World Series being held at Disney's World Complex.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:00 a.m. e.s.t. Sunday (click here to watch live) with pool play to start at 11:00 a.m. Memphis will find out at 5:00 p.m. e.s.t. Saturday their pool play schedule.

Pool Game 1 

Tigers Wallop Dragons  

The Memphis Tigers opened the NABF World Series tournament on Monday with a 14-1 run rule shortened victory over the Team Collierville Dragons. 

Memphis starter and winning pitcher Robbie Young threw a five inning complete game one hitter with no earned runs allowed to gain the victory. Young also recorded 5 strikeouts in the win.

The Tigers were lead at the plate by John Wesley Ray's, Tyler Lawrence's and Michael Halley's 2-3 performances at the plate. Halley and Lawrence plated 2 rbi's each and Ray added one to pace the Tiger attack.

 

Pool Game 2 

Tigers Thump Gamers  

The Memphis Tigers again took care of business Tuesday in their second round of pool play in the NABF World Series tournament in Southaven by thumping the Mid South Gamers Blue by a score of 12-1.

Memphis starter and winning pitcher Daniel Nordwall shut down the Gamers by allowing only an infield single while striking out 8 in his five inning complete game victory.

The Tigers were lead at the plate by John Wesley Ray's and Salem Smith's triples that paced a 10 hit attack and also forced the Gamers into 5 errors.

Pool Game 3 

Tigers Hammer Bulldogs  

The Memphis Tigers came out swinging on Wednesday in their third and final pool game versus the Batavia Bulldogs from Batavia, IL in the NABF World Series tournament in Southaven by a score of 16-0.

Memphis' Cooper Williams was the winning pitcher by throwing 4 innings of 1-hit baseball to shut down the Bulldogs. Williams amazingly threw only 40 pitches allowing only one baserunner to record the Tigers third straight one hitter in this tournament. Williams also finished with 2 strikeouts and no walks. 

The Tigers were lead at the plate by all starters finishing with at least one hit each in accumulating 17 hits in the run rule shortened affair.. The big blows came early from Matt Bolton's lead off double and two batters later Scott Craddick's triple that plated a run to propel the Tigers to a 3-0 first inning lead.

Salem Smith went 3-3 at the plate followed by Matt Bolton's, Michael Halley's, Scott Craddick's and Brandon Wilhelm's 2 hits apiece to aid the Tiger cause. Halley's also recorded the Tigers first inside the park homer of the year as the Tigers finished the Bulldogs off early.
