MITCHELL SLAMS FOUR CONSECUTIVE HOME RUNS!!!
Third baseman Chris Mitchell hit home runs in four consecutive at-bats in Monday's doubleheader at Cameron Brown Park, setting a new Royals' record.

In game one against the Red Birds, Mitchell hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Royals a 7-6 win.  In the second game of the twinbill against the Longballers, Mitchell hit a home run in each of his three at-bats, including a tapemeasure shot that cleared the trees beyond the left field fence in his final at-bat of the game.  The three home runs in a single game tied the Royals' team record, shared by Doug Darnall (1994), Jeff Duncan (1996), and Justin McMahan (2004).

ROYALS WIN GABL TOURNAMENT

The Royals defeated the Redds 9-5 and 9-8 on Sunday at Cameron Brown Park in the best of three Germantown Adult Baseball League championship series.  The top-seeded Royals (38-9) won five straight games in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 14-3-1 league record.  It was their second GABL tournament title in the past three years.

In game one, Chris Mitchell hit a walk-off grand slam with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning after a double by Alan Wright and intentional walks to Michael Ferguson and Zak Mitchell (loading the bases.)  It was Mitchell's league-leading 13th home run of the season.

The second game of the doubleheader, Reid Gann's single in the top of the ninth inning scored Corey Rudolph and Wright with the ahead runs, breaking a 7-7 tie.  Royals' pitcher Mike Berchoff earned the win after pitching seven innings in relief.
