Medway Youth Baseball Night at Five Guys - Thursday, February 9th
Medway Youth Baseball is very excited to partner with Five Guys Burgers and Fries at their newMilford location.
On Thursday, February 9th, Five Guys has agreed to donate a percentage of all sales from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to MYB. If you haven’t had the burgers and fries at Five Guys, you are missing out. Please bring along family and friends and enjoy a great dinner at Five Guys on February 9th. You do not need to bring a flyer or anything, just bring your appetite.
Five Guys opened their Milford restaurant in 2011 and it is conveniently located on route 109 in the Hannafords shopping center. We hope to see you there on the 9th. It would be great if the kids wore their baseball hats and/or shirts to Five Guys.
This partnership will help support many of the MYB programs, including our scholarships, our improvements to McGovern, Cassidy and Idylbrook fields, and our 2012 required equipment purchases. Without help from MYB families and great organizations like Five Guys, we could not offer such a quality baseball program year after year.

At this time, MYB, will not be following the Little League moratorium on composite bats in the in-town leagues. This includes the Tondorf tournament. However, the Sizzler tournament run by Hopkinton, will be implementing this moratorium. We are still waiting for a decision from the Babe Ruth, Upper Charles and the Farm Summer leagues. We will revisit this decision in the future. MYB is not a member of Little League International.
Information:
On December 30th, Little League International placed a moratorium on the use of composite bats in the all baseball divisions of Little League. The decision was based on "The maximum performance standard for non-wood bats in the divisions for 12-year-olds and below is a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.15. The research found that composite bats, while they may meet the standard when new, can exceed that standard after a break-in process.”
The moratorium on composite bats only applies to composite-barreled bats. Bats that have only a metal/alloy in the barrel (and no other material, unless it is in the end cap of the bat) are not subject to the moratorium, regardless of the composition of the handle.
There is currently a process for Composite Bats to recieve a waiver. The current bats that have received a waiver can be found at:
