Senior League
MYB competes in the Metrowest Senior League. This is a travel league with six surrounding programs - Ashland, Dover-Sherborn, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton and Millis.
Games are played on a regulation 90 diamond with modified baseball rules, i.e., a continuous batting order and free substitution.
Eligible players are 13 and 14 year olds and anyone who is 15 by April 30th . The age groups will be divided to create equally competitive teams. Players who register late will be accepted on a roster available basis and may be placed on a waiting list.
The intent of the league is to help older players further develop their baseball skills and to help 13 year olds adjust to the bigger field. While all age appropriate individuals are encouraged to participate, it is competitive baseball. Due to the maturity of some of the participants, a players skill level should be a safety consideration.
The Senior League season runs from mid April to the end of May. Games are scheduled for both weekday evenings and Sundays with three games a week.
Metal spikes and sneakers are not allowed.
MYB does not provide bats at this level. 13 year old players may use a -5 drop metal bat with a 2 3/4" diameter head. 14 and 15 year olds are limited to a -3 drop metal bat with a 2 5/8" diameter head. A BESR (Bat Exit Speed Ratio) mark is not required for -3 bats in the Senior League. However, the BESR mark is required for the summer Babe Ruth League. The players may also chose to use wood.
