Turkey Bowl Results Worthy of Trivial Pursuit
Question: When is it possible for a team in an eight team tournament to go 4-0 outscoring their opponants 22-3 to NOT make it into the Championship Game?
Answer: When you play in the Cleveland Heights Turkey Bowl.
Explanation: The tournament is set up with two pools (call them "A" and "B") with four teams in each pool. Each team in pool "A" plays each of the teams in pool "B", but none of the teams in their own pool. The teams playing for the Championship will be the top team from each pool. So...despite their record, the Bees fell short to Kenston who were in the same pool by means of the first level of tiebreakers - Goal Differential. This is simply how many goals you score less the number of goals your opponant scores with a maximum of six goals earned in any one game. Medina finished with a differential of 18 while Kenston finished with 19. Kenston earns the right to a rematch against Mayfield whom they had beaten 5-2 earlier in the tournament. Mayfield will appear in the final game despite finishing 2-2 falling to both Kenston and Medina.
The Bees got what they needed from the tournament; time to gel as a team both on and off the ice. Medina will bring a hungry attitude into Canton for their season opener Wednesday night against the Hoban Knights.

Medina to Appear in Cleveland Heights Turkey Bowl
Medina takes to the ice for four games in Cleveland Heights over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. The Bees kick off the tournament at 4:45 p.m. against the newly formed Brunswick Blue Devils. The Turkey Bowl will be Medina's final warm up as they move into regular season play beginning on 12/2 in Canton against the Hoban Knights. Come out and experience the buzz that is your Medina Bees!

Pre-Season Scrimmages Scheduled
The Medina Bees will travel to Winterhurst on November 14th to scrimmage against the Cleveland Junior Jacks at 8:00 p.m. as they prepare for their season opener in December. The following weekend, on November 21st, the Bees will migrate to Euclid to take on the Vikings of St.Joe's at 6:00 p.m. Thanks to all who supported Medina during the pre-season tournament this past weekend!

Bees to Participate in Pre-Season Tourney
The squad will take to the ice for a pre-season warmup this weekend as they compete against teams from Kentucky, Michigan, and New York. Players should arrive no later than one hour before game time. See you at the rink!

Regular Season Schedule Announced
The 2009-10 North Coast High School Hockey League (NCHSHL) schedule has been released and can be viewed in its entirity on the league website using the link provided. The Bees will open their season on the road for their first four games starting on December 2nd in Canton, and won't have their home opener until December 20 when they will host Fremont at Hoover Arena. We hope to see you there!

Thank You Bee Supporters!
The Medina Bees Hockey Team would like to express their appreciation to those who patroned the fundraising event this past weekend. The weather cooperated to allow for a fun-filled afternoon of golf followed by a smorgasbord of wings, pizza, desserts, and camaraderie. We sincerely hope everyone enjoyed themselves and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming game or two to cheer on the Bees as they look to build upon last season's successes. Thanks again to all who attended!
