Meanstreets Sports Inc.
History:
"MEANSTREETS SPORTS INC." is a not for profit organization established in 2001 by former University of Michigan, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions wide receiver Tai Streets. Through Tai's sponsorship youngsters are afforded an opportunity to participate in various sports related activities free of charge.
MeanStreets Sports Inc. consists of MeanStreets Basketball and MeanStreets Cheerleaders. MeanStreets Basketball was founded by Tai Streets and Carlton DeBose, MeanStreets Cheerleaders was founded by Karen Streets.
Mission:
To "give something back to the community" using sports as a vehicle. Many of the youngsters who benefit the most from these programs are elementary as well as high school students/athletes who have been saddled with the misfortune of residing in less desirable areas in the city of Chicago and it's suburbs.
