The Mavericks will continue their tradition of fielding a top showcase team for the fifth consecutive year. This year's team will feature players who will graduate from high school in 2008. As many of the team's projected players have been invited to attend individual showcases, camps and college visits this summer, the majority of the Mavericks games this season will be played during the important Mid-August through late October fall Showcase circuit. Because of the consistent local and national success of the team and the recognized individual achievements of Maverick players, roster spots will again be highly competitive.

The team will comprise of players who have demonstrated college potential through their performance during varsity high school and high level summer seasons. Invitations will be extended after consultation with high school coaches, summer club coaches and professional instructors. Players selected to represent the Maryland Mavericks during the Fall Showcase season will be notified by June 15, 2007.

As a result of the team's growing national reputation and success competing in one of the most aggressive amateur schedules in America last summer (traveling to nine highly competitive tournaments and several regional games), the Mavericks have been invited to participate in a number of elite Fall Showcase events slated for 2007. Currently sorting out the invitations and availability, the schedule will be announced in June. This opportunity will allow many more college coaches to evaluate these collegiate player candidates during this important recruiting period. Without question, it is the best way to continue the Mavericks tradition of excellence and provide maximum opportunities for deserving baseball talent.

There will also be two (2) summer tournament dates which will include the top players from last summer's Maverick team to be joined by several of the best rising high school seniors and rising college freshman from Maryland. The team has been invited to represent Maryland in the 18 and under World Wood Bat Championships in East Cobb, Georgia and at the Barrett-Fletcher World Series in St. Petersburg, Florida. Players will be notified by May 15, 2007 regarding their selection for the tournament roster.
